Jennifer Lawrence finally addresses rumors of affair with Liam Hemsworth when he was with Miley Cyrus
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jennifer Lawrence has now taken it upon herself to quash rumors of her alleged affair with Liam Hemsworth when the hunky actor was in a relationship with Miley Cyrus. During an appearance at ‘Watch What Happens Live’, Lawrence addressed the rumor and called her ‘The Hunger Games’ co-star “hot.”
When host Andy Cohen asked Lawrence point blank during a game of ‘Plead the Fifth’ to shed light on the rumors of the secret affair, the ‘Joy’ actress firmly responded by saying the rumors were “not true.” She said, “Total rumor. We all know we only kissed one time and it was years after they broke up so I just assumed that was a coincidence.”
In 2015, she admitted during another appearance on ‘Watch What Happens Live!’ that she kissed Hemsworth once. In the recent appearance, she further added jokingly about the incident by stating, “Liam and I grew up together. Liam’s real hot. What would you have done?" as per OK! Magazine.
However, Lawrence was firm when it came to any speculation about an affair, admitting she felt bad because of such allegations. She said, “If five people at a party think you slept with somebody's boyfriend it's really upsetting. And then you multiply it by, I'm not good at the math, eight billion.”
How did the Jennifer Lawrence-Liam Hemsworth rumors start?
After the release of Cyrus’ single ‘Flowers’ at the beginning of 2023, fans started speculating that the song was probably the singer taking a subtle dig at her ex-husband Hemsworth. Cyrus and Hemsworth were in a decade-long relationship that was quite rocky. During the filming of their 2010 movie, ‘The Last Song’, they started a relationship and got engaged in 2012, but the following year they called off the engagement before reuniting again in 2016. The pop star and the actor were in a tumultous marriage from 2018 to 2019.
Cyrus released ‘Flowers’ on Hemsworth’s birthday. In the song's video, she could be seen in a a gold dress from Saint Laurent's autumn/winter 1991 collection, which reminded many fans of Lawrence’s gold dress which she wore during a red carpet event with Hemsworth. Fans speculated that the lyrics of the single also hinted at an affair. However, the singer has not said anything.

However, Hemsworth was not the only married man with whom Lawrence’s name has been linked to. She and Pratt starred in the 2016 sci-fi movie 'Passengers'. While filming the movie, there were rumors that she was having an affair with Pratt, who was then married to Anna Faris. Even though the rumors died down, she was again blamed when Pratt and Faris divorced in 2017.
Lawrence got the record straight in an interview with KISS FM later on. She firmly declared, “I never had an affair with Chris Pratt on Passengers. That’s a good one. I mean they got a divorce like two years later and everybody was like, ‘Jennifer Lawrence!’ And I was like, ‘What the…what I’m in Montreal two years later.'”
Even Faris addressed the rumored affair in her memoir ‘Unqualified’. She wrote, "I’d always taken pride in our relationship, and the coverage, even though it was just false rumors, was making me feel insecure. Jennifer and I really are friendly, and she was apologetic even though she didn’t need to be, because she hadn’t done anything wrong."
