LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Fans worldwide were left shocked by the untimely death of Matthew Perry but the pain was particularly profound for Jennifer Aniston who shared a special bond with the actor.
At Perry's funeral on Friday, November 3, Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, and Matt LeBlanc paid their respects to their friend with whom they filmed 'Friends' from 1994 to 2004.

'Friends' cast 'utterly devastated' by Matthew Perry's death
The four surviving members of the sitcom continue to grieve Perry's death at the age of 54.
"Out of the remaining five, Jen and Courtney (Cox) are reeling the most, and Jen is probably the one who is struggling most acutely," said an industry source, reported Page Six.

Speaking about Aniston's emotional state, the source said, "It’s a second massive loss in less than a year, with the one-year anniversary of her dad’s death just around the corner."
"She still hasn’t fully regained her footing from that, and now this has just completely knocked her off her feet," the insider said of Aniston grieving the loss of her father and actor John Aniston who died at the age of 89 on November 11.

"She is trying to regroup and recover but it’s been a completely devastating blow," the insider added.
Matthew Perry was 'grateful' to Jennifer Aniston for checking on him
Perry, who was open about his addiction and related struggles, previously said in an interview with Diane Sawyer in October 2022 that Aniston "was the one that reached out the most."
"You know, I’m really grateful to her for that," he said of the 'Cake' actress.

The 'Fools Rush In' actor also stated that when his addiction became evident to the 'Friends' cast, it was Aniston who initially confronted him on the set.
Perry also admitted in his memoir 'Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing' that three years before he worked with Aniston on 'Friends', he had a crush on her after they met through mutual friends.

Speaking about the time when he asked her out, Perry said, "She declined (which made it very difficult to actually go out with her), but said that she’d love to be friends with me, and I compounded the compound by blurting, 'We can’t be friends!' "
Perry revealed that his feelings for Aniston eventually wore off because of her "deafening lack of interest."
