Jennifer Aniston leaves tears of joy emoji on ex John Mayer's Instagram amid Brad Pitt romance rumor
No one is better at keeping a friendly rapport with their ex-boyfriends than Jennifer Aniston. As her fans speculate whether she has gotten back with her first husband, Brad Pitt, the 'Friends' actress made an unexpected appearance on her former flame John Mayer's Instagram Live on Sunday, April 5.
The 'New Light' singer had taken to social media live stream to pay his tribute to the late Bill Withers, who died on March 30 at age 81.
“Whether he was speaking to you or speaking to an interviewer 15 years ago, 14, 13 years ago, everything he said was useful,” Mayer said of the Lovely Day vocalist. “Four percent of the things that I say are useful. One hundred percent of the things he said were useful.”
Mayer's self-deprecating remarks were met with a range of reactions from viewers, including a very special one — Jennifer Aniston. The actress dropped in three tears of joy emojis on the comments section making a number of fans gasp as they realized that she was watching the live stream too, the Sun reported.
“OMG Jen is here,” one fan wrote next, while another exclaimed: “Jennifer!!!!!”
Aniston and Mayer met at an Oscar Party in February 2008 but ended up splitting in August of the same year. Although they did get back briefly and even walked the red carpet at the Oscars together the following February, they again ended up calling quits just a month later. They have been on cordial terms ever since.
The same cannot be, however, said for Mayer and another of his former flames, Jessica Simpson. In her memoir, 'Open Book,' Simpson claimed that Mayer would often break up with her and talk about her in degrading terms. When Mayer was asked if he had read her book on 'Watch What Happens Live,' he confirmed that he had not and neither did he plan on doing so in the future.
“As Pee Wee Herman says in Pee Wee’s Big Adventure, before the movie of his life is about to play out at the end, he’s not watching the movie, and the reason he’s not watching the movie, he says, ‘I don’t have to watch it, Dottie, I lived it.’ And I think that’s prescient here," he said.
Aniston, on the other hand, sparked romance rumors with the 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood' star after both of them were captured on camera delighted to bump into each other at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in January.
Pitt was seen mouthing the words "oh my God" during Aniston's acceptance speech at the SAG Awards, and they were later seen holding hands backstage. When she was asked about how she felt seeing Pitt that evening, she sweetly replied, "It just feels like a really fun night to cheer each other on. We’ve all grown up together, we really have."
On being inquired about rumors of them getting back together, she felt it was "hysterical" and added, "But what else are they going to talk about?"
