Jennifer Aniston breaks down on Ellen after daughter pleads with them to help her unemployed father after mother's death from cancer
Celebrities who appear on an Ellen DeGeneres TV special, they usually expect a trove of fun and games. However, Jennifer was moved to tears when she participated in Ellen's Greatest Night of Giveaways.
'The Morning Show' star became emotional as she watched a video of Elyse Kimball asking Ellen for help, after she and her sister Lexie had lost their mother to cancer and their father was unemployed. The sisters would later join Ellen and Jennifer on stage with their dad Jeff, nine.com.au reports.
"He has given all he has got for our family of three. He doesn't deserve this," a tearful Elyse said in the video. "He's all I got. He is my life. He is what gets me through the good and the bad. For once, I want to give something to him. I want him to get something he deserves, and I can't do this without help."
Jennifer and Ellen were moved after Jeff revealed how the family used a quote from Ellen's character in 'Finding Nemo' to reassure his wife as she underwent treatment.
"She was going in for a 13-hour surgery," he said. "The last thing I did was blow her a kiss and say, 'Just keep swimming'."
Jennifer then asked the sisters what would their mother say "if she knew you guys were here right now?"
"She would be so happy. Ellen, she was your biggest fan so she would be like, 'Move over 'cause I'm getting closer'," Jeff responded, laughing.
Ellen proceeded to surprise the embattled family on the special occasion of Christmas. She revealed how she had decked out their house in lights, presents, and decorations so they could have the ultimate festive season. The family couldn't believe their eyes, and broke out in tears over the kind gesture. Ellen is also lighting up the lives of her studio audience as part of her annual '12 Days of Giveaways' on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
