LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Netflix series ‘Wednesday’ has stunned everyone and is on course to become one of the most-watched original shows of all time. The series is filled with nostalgia and takes us back to the times when ‘Addams Family’ used to enthrall the viewers with a spectacular animation series. However, the best sequence in Tim Burton’s latest series takes place in the fourth episode in which she dances her heart out to the tune of ‘Goo Goo Muck’.

During Episode 4, the titular character, dressed in her unique gothic style, heads to Nevermore Academy’s Rave’N Dance. The entire room is filled with people dressed in white and the character takes the unconventional route by wearing a stunning black gown. As soon as her song comes on, she forgets about everyone and shows off her distinctive moves passionately. The entire scene is being hailed as the best scene of the series and is being shared heavily on social media. We have only one person to thank for that epic dance routine and that’s Jenna Ortega herself.

The official YouTube channel of Still Watching Netflix uploaded a video in which the cast watched the dance sequence and shared how they loved the entire scene. Ortega, who was present in the video, noted how nervous he was while filming the scene because she choreographed the dance routine herself. The entire cast was in awe of Ortega and said that they can see the sequence over and over again. However, Ortega felt really “insecure” while doing it.

“I actually felt really insecure about this, I choreographed that myself and I think it’s very obvious that I’m not a dancer or choreographer,” Ortega said in the clip.

The entire sequence is really important for the series and the character because it sees Wednesday adapting to the new setting, but also showed that she is strong enough to not behave like others and keep her individuality intact.

Apart from choreographing the entire routine herself, she also noted that her eccentric moves were inspired by artists such as Siouxsie Sioux, Bob Fosse’s Rich Man’s Frug, Lisa Loring, Lene Lovich, and Denis Lavant. The actor also noted that she watched “archival footage of goths” who danced in the clubs in the 1980s. While reacting to the dance clip, Ortega tweeted, “Thanks to Siouxsie Sioux, Bob Fosse’s Rich Man’s Frug, Lisa Loring, Lene Lovich, Denis Lavant, and archival footage of goths dancing in clubs in the ’80s. Helped me out on this one.”

‘Wednesday’ has taken the world by storm and earned universal acclaim from critics as well as viewers. The coming-of-age supernatural comedy currently holds a 70% critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but the audience score is much higher and sits comfortably at 88%.

‘Wednesday’ Season 1 is currently streaming on Netflix.
