LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: While fans loved Jenna Ortega in the titular role of 'Wednesday', they will witness her taking up more of a creative role by being a producer for Season 2. She is inclined towards taking more ownership of the project and is expected to have involvement in creative decision-making.

Season 1 witnessed Wednesday Addams being embroiled in a love triad between Tyler Galpin's character Hunter Doohan and Xavier Thorpe's character Percy Hynes White. Jenna never liked the love triangle and made it obvious to the fans after commenting multiple times that the subplot did not make any sense for her emotionally unavailable character.

What does it mean for Jenna as a producer for Season 2?

For Jenna to be a producer for 'Wednesday' Season 2 simply means that she can incorporate her ideas for the script and for maximum character development of the titular role. It also means that the first thing she might do is remove the possibility of any romance between the characters. Jenna clarified about Season 2 being more focused on the character battling supernatural beings and forces, instead of being focused on love interests, as per Variety. Jenna reportedly said that it was just something very important for her and the character's growth.

Jenna told Elle Fanning in an edition of 'Variety Actors on Actors', "We’ve decided we want to lean into the horror aspect of the show a little bit more, because it is so light-hearted, and a show like this with vampires and werewolves and superpowers, you don’t want to take yourself too seriously."

'Hopefully this will steer away from it becoming Euphoria 3.0'

If anything, some fans were not happy about the changes Jenna proposed because given that the appeal of the show is towards young men and women, it is likely that they would find a romantic angle interesting. However, the majority of them were happy about the direction that Season 2 was taking.

Internet users took to Instagram to give their opinion. One user pleaded with the writers to hear Jenna out and said, "Writers hear Jenna Queen Ortega pls! And bring her woman back!  #wewantweemsback." Another user was happy that Jenna was able to include her perspective and commented, "I’m really happy that she is stepping into this space with confidence and certainty. Once you realize your not gonna be for everyone or make everyone happy. The decisions you make moving forward have clarity, focus and perspective." A third user claimed that Jenna would know better about the preferences of this generation and said, "U are our generation, u know what we want to see. don't change who you are and keep making yourself heard."

On the hand, fans also flooded Twitter with their two cents. A Twitter user said that it was understandable of her to not want a love triangle in Season 2 and said, "Well, that’s understandable considering the ‘romance’ in s1 was a disaster of epic proportions. Wednesday had no interest in either the spoiled rich boy or the mama’s boy townie. And neither boy had any chemistry with her." Another user is hopeful that the upcoming seasons do not become like Euphoria and tweeted, "Hopefully this will steer away from it becoming Euphoria 3.0." A Twitter user agreed with Jenna that the love triangle in Season 1 was not good and did not make any sense by tweeting, "Good, it was the horrible love triangle that hurt season 1."
