'People hit you right where it hurts': Jenna Bush Hager’s ex broke up after seeing her 'in bathing suit'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jenna Bush Hager shared how she was dumped by her seventh-grade boyfriend after he noticed her in a swimsuit for the first time. While on Wednesday’s broadcast, April 12, of the 'Today' show, the author said, “It’s so interesting because people really do hit you right where it hurts. I had a boyfriend in seventh grade who broke up with me after we went swimming together.” “After he saw me in a bathing suit", she added.

Hager took the opportunity to highlight the consequences of body shaming and its mental impact in the long run. “I feel like even sometimes now when I feel great — I have three kids, three C-sections, I feel really in my body and I think of it as a beautiful thing — I’ll walk in a pool and have a moment,” said Hager. Bush Hager, shares her daughters, nine-year-old Mila, seven-year-old Poppy, and three-year-old son Hal, with husband Henry Hager, and told host Hoda Kotb that learning from her experience, she is raising her children to be ‘loving’ human beings. “All we want is loving children. We don’t need the star kid, the this, the that. We want kind kids. The way you do that is model it,” sharing her take on parenting, as per PageSix.

'I was on a lot of antidepressants and drinking on them'

Recently, Ariana Grande also talked about harsh online comments being made about her body. The ‘Bang Bang’ singer hit back at the internet trolls calling her ‘too thin’ and unhealthy in a TikTok video on Tuesday, April 11. “The body that you’ve been comparing my current body to was the unhealthiest version of my body. I was on a lot of antidepressants and drinking on them and eating poorly", said Grande before adding “[I was] at the lowest point of my life when I looked the way you consider my health, but that in fact wasn’t my healthy.”



 

'So be gentle with each other'

She further said, "The second thing is you never know what someone is going through, so even if you're coming from a loving place or a caring place, that person probably is working on it or has a support system that they're working on it with. You never know, so be gentle with each other and yourselves.”
