Was Jeffery Epstein gay? Blogger Xeni Jardin claims disgraced financier was into men: 'Fact, not conjecture'
Even two years after his death, conspiracy theories and speculations about sex offender Jeffrey Epstein continue to garner attention. Similarly, a recent tweet by a blogger has gained attention because it claims that Epstein was gay. The tweet came from blogger Xeni Jardin, who is also the former co-editor of Boing Boing.
Not only Epstein, Jardin claimed that his alleged co-conspirator, Ghislaine Maxwell, was also gay. She claimed that this piece of information was confirmed by sources close to Epstein and Maxwell.
Jardin wrote, "Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein are/were both gay. This is fact, not conjecture," and added in the thread, "Ask Victoria what her secret was, for starters. But there’s plenty more where that guy came from." Jardin also stated, "She wasn’t his girlfriend. The scary looking dude who was present at her arrest might be her husband, but that ain’t the truth truth. I don’t know the whole story but I do know that some parts people are podcasting and substacking are pure bullshit."

The blogger then also added, "My sources are people who were close to them. But, real talk. 1) What straight man walks around Manhattan in monogrammed bathrobes and slippers 2) only a dyke who hates dresses could wear a good dress that badly, that many times. And I do love me some dykes, don’t get it twisted."

This tweet ended up giving fodder to a lot of people who created hundreds of memes around this blogger's claim. However, there were some who took the claim seriously and discussed it at depth. For instance, one user wrote, "Question: if he was gay, but had Maxwell set him up with a steady supply of young women, wouldn't that make him bi instead of just gay?" To this, another answered, "Sometimes, it's all about power and fronting heteronormativity in order to draw influential abusers into your orbit."

This got a response from Jardin, who wrote, "Boom." However, that did not go well with a user who found Jardin's tweet homophobic and this user commented, "Boom what? Someone trying to justify your homophobic argument with a hypothetical strategy isn’t a “boom”. It’s a whimper."

Another user wrote, "i have to give this to jenny garden, claiming jeffrey epstein and ghislaine maxwell for the gays during pride is an EXCELLENT bit," and added, "or would be if she weren't completely serious and deranged." One user commented about the tweet that referred to Epstein's monogrammed robes and slippers and said, "I appreciate that she starts with "I have sources" but then the main proof is that Epstein wore monogrammed robes and slippers and that Ghislaine didn't look good in expensive dresses. *Chef's kiss*"

One user wrote in a thread, "This is what makes Xeni one of the all-time greats. She got a lot of negative attention when she mentioned hanging out with Epstein," and added, "A normal person might try to distance themselves from that, but Xeni saw it as an opportunity. "Epstein-adjacent and unashamed" is a completely unfilled niche right now." This user also explpained, "Even better if she goes in on this "Epstein looked gay to me" angle as a way to declare him innocent, but that's probably a bridge too far even for her."
