Jeff Bezos' lover Lauren Sanchez finalizes divorce with Patrick Whitesell, to share custody of kids
Jeff Bezos' girlfriend Lauren Sanchez and her estranged husband, Patrick Whitesell, reached a final agreement for their divorce on Friday, October 18.
The divorce is expected to get finalized by the end of this month. While the two parties have agreed to divide the property according to the terms of their prenuptial agreement, both of them will share custody of their son and daughter.
Sanchez's 14-year marriage to Hollywood super-agent husband came to an end earlier this year after news of her having an extramarital affair with the Amazon billionaire surfaced. Since being dumped by the Emmy Award-nominated news anchor in May, Whitesell has moved on with Pia Miller, a 35-year-old Australian model and actress, Daily Mail reported.
Sanchez, 49, and Whitesell, 54, both filed for divorce in early April.
The details of the settlement have not been made public and are being ironed out by celebrity divorce specialist Laura Wasser. Whitesell's personal net worth is estimated to about $440 million, which pales in comparison to Bezos, whose estimated wealth amounts to $114 billion, according to Forbes.
Bezos, 55, already split with his wife of 25 years, MacKenzie, in January after news of his affair was made public. In January, the pair announced that they were parting "as cherished friends" and divorcing "after a long period of loving exploration and trial separation."
Following the final settlement, his ex-wife walked away from their marriage with a hefty sum including $38 billion worth of Amazon stock.
Bezos and Sanchez have not let constant criticism in the media dampen their spirits as they were seen jetting off on several exotic trips, including staying on Diane von Furstenberg and Barry Diller's yacht in Venice in August. Last week, the mother-of-three was seen making her way to a cafe near Santa Monica pier, along with Bezos and her 13-year-old son, Evan.
