Jay Leno reveals facial scars for the first time since fire accident as he gets released from hospital
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jay Leno has been discharged from hospital after he recovered from "serious" burns in a garage fire. The 72-year-old former 'Tonight Show' host looked happy and healthy as he posed for a photo with the Grossman Burn Center staff. “After a 10-day stay at the facility, Jay will receive follow-up care at the Grossman Outpatient Burn Clinic for burns to his face, chest, and hands he received during a fire at his home garage,” doctors shared in a press release. “Jay would like to let everyone know how thankful he is for the care he received, and is very appreciative of all of the good wishes. He is looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with his family and friends and wishes everyone a wonderful holiday.”
Dr Peter Grossman also added that he was pleased with Leno's recovery and was hopeful that he would make a complete amelioration. Leno's facial scars can be seen near his jawline and on his neck in the photo. His left hand appears to have been scorched badly while his right hand looks to be in a finer state. Leno was seen lying in a hyperbaric chamber in a previously shared footage with his left arm bandaged up to his elbow. He also had a couple of grafting procedures to remove unhealthy tissue.

According to TMZ, Leno burned his face after a fire broke out in a car, and he was immediately rushed to a hospital. He revealed that he was working on his 115-year-old 1907 White Steam Car when a fuel leak sprayed him with gasoline and then he caught fire when a spark triggered an explosion. “I got some serious burns from a gasoline fire. I am ok. Just need a week or two to get back on my feet,” the comedian and former “Tonight Show” host said in a statement to Variety.

According to Grossman, Leno's wife was very worried for her husband’s health and she stayed by his side throughout his hospitalization. Twitter users also seem to be delighted to see the comedian in a better state now. One user tweeted, "@jaylenocredits his huge chin for saving his face from melting all jokes aside glad you're ok J". Another user tweeted, "I am glad he is doing better. He has always been a stand-up person outside of entertainment and helping local communities with his means, at least in RI he does. No one should go through this, but I would not be surprised if he goes above and beyond helping other burn victims now."
