The 'Jalebi Baby' singer announced the shocking decision in his latest tweet, where he wrote, "Jena and I have decided to part ways. She is an amazing mother but we feel being apart at this time will allow us to be the best versions of ourselves and the best parents we could be. Pls respect our privacy in this time." The couple has been dating for around a year and a half and welcomed their son Jason King four months ago in May 2021.
Meanwhile, Jena deleted her long, romantic birthday wish for the 32-year-old singer, posted on September 21, 2021, on Instagram. "Happy birthday @jasonderulo ! Blessed to share the same day of birth with my lover. You are the most handsome, hardworking, talented, silly, loving human ever. You truly make me whole and I'm so grateful for the love we share. You and our mini make me the happiest girl in the world and I can't wait to make more memories with you guys. I know I’m a tough cookie but you make me soft and accept me for who I am and I'm forever grateful for that. Cheers to another year! I love you so much, forever," Jena had initially written. The young couple was also spotted smiling and gushing with each other during a birthday date in Los Angeles. It is unclear what exactly went downhill within barely two days that decided them to take the drastic step.

Derulo, who had dated Jordin Sparks in the past, had broken up in a similar manner in the past as well, where he left his girlfriend clueless about the same until the very end. Back in 2016, Derulo also dated rapper 50 Cent's baby mama Daphne Joy for six months. Derulo and Jena started dating after they met at a gym in early 2020. In March .2021, the 32-year-old singer announced that he was expecting a baby with her. He posted an emotional video of the two of them walking on the beach in sunset while bending down to kiss Frumes' belly. "Couldn't be more excited for this new chapter in our life @jenafrumes," he wrote in the caption.
The 27-year-old YouTuber gave birth to their son Jason King on May 8 and shared photos with the newborn and the baby daddy shortly afterward. The couple's adorable photos and videos, often together with their son, are still visible on their social media profiles.
