His legendary charm, his skills at the tracks, or his charisma around the opposite sex, James Hunt will always be fondly remembered as a Formula 1 legend. The late British idol recieved an unmatched status as a plaboy during his prime time in the 1970s and 1980s.

Hunt is rumored to have bedded as many as 5000 women which denotes how he lived life to the fullest. Of these 5000 women, 35 are assumed to be hostesses of the British Airways. Hunt suffered a tragic death in 1993 when he was 45 and had a heart attack.

Nearly three decades later, his memory still lives on as people remember the legend for his remarkable wins and unmatched womanizing. Hunt's son Freddie did not say much about his dad's drug use but did highlight his legendary way with females. Freddie told The Times, "I can’t vouch for the number of women but I know that Dad wasn’t a junky. He just liked getting loose at parties. He took coke, but he wasn’t a cokehead."

Speaking on how his mum was he said, "We do behave quite similarly. Then again, my mum was pretty naughty too."

Until the 1976 Japanese Grand Prix, it was anticipated that Hunt had bedded 35 air hostesses. Freddie told The Mirror, "There were witnesses. There was a fresh supply of hostesses." He added, "They would come to the hotel, stop over, then get on the plane the next day. There was a different one every night."

Before these encounters in 1976, Hunt was married to model, actress, and dancer Suzy Miller. Suzy left him for actor Richard Burton, however, leaving him an eligible bachelor. Hunt then married his second wife, Sarah Lomax, in 1983 with whom he had Freddie and Tom. A few years later, he called it quits with Sarah and found love in Helen Dyson, who was 18 years younger to him. He planned on proposing to Helen in 1993 but unfortunately, he passed away just a day later.

His story was told in the movie 'Rush', which had Chris Hemsworth starring as Hunt. Hemsworth, best known for his role as Marvel's Thor, said about essaying the role, "This was particularly nerve-wracking because he was an iconic person and he is also no longer alive, which adds pressure because I had to live up to the memory." He continued, "At the same time, this challenge makes it kind of thrilling. The two go hand in hand. There were so many resources, people to talk to and so much information to take in."
