Is that James Charles? Cardboard cutout of YouTuber 'getting stabbed' on 'Love or Host' leaves fans concerned

Beauty YouTuber James Charles has always turned heads, be it with his pro make-up tips or viral videos on TikTok. The 21-year-old Internet personality has yet again become the hot topic of discussion on Twitter and users of the social media platform were excited to see Charles trending online.

Why is Charles trending this time around?

Soon after Charles started trending on Twitter, more and more people surfaced on the social media platform to react to it, with some wondering if he had gotten himself entangled in another controversy, while others clarified the actual reason behind the viral trend. One user shared the reason saying, “A cardboard cutout of James Charles appeared on the streaming show Love or Host, sending both fandoms into a frenzy.”

What is ‘Love or Host’? 

‘Love or Host’ is a game show aired on Twitch’s AustinShow channel. It is a fusion of traditional reality TV and live streaming, in which contestants interact with the host GeorgeNotFound to either find love or an opportunity to get their shows hosted by the host of ‘Love or Host’. Unlike other games shows, the chatroom gets to decide who to eliminate. 

The trend went so viral that Charles himself took to Twitter to react to it while asking fans the reason behind the rather crazy trend. He tweeted, "I’m currently trending because of a cardboard cutout?? This is definitely a first, someone please explain hahahah"

Apparently, a cardboard cutout of Charles was showcased on ‘Love or Host’ which has garnered a shocking amount of attention for a rather strange reason.  The majority of the tweets suggest that Charles fans used this as an opportunity to make him trend on top. One tweet stated, "Still can't get over the fact that minx having a cardboard cutout of james charles during loh and us tweeting about it causes him to tweet about it and for him to trend" While another added, "WHY DO WE HAVE AN OFFICIAL DESCRIPTION FOR JAMES CHARLES TRENDING  @JustaMinx NOTICED BY TWITTER X1" And one wrote, "PLEASE JAMES CHARLES TRENDING BECAUSE OF A CARDBOARD CUTOUT

Meanwhile, a few of Charles's concerned fans noted that one of the contestants on 'Love or Host', Minx, had placed the make-up artist's cutout on her bed and then she began to dance to WAP on camera and posed with a knife held against his neck on the cutout while streaming live. Sharing the screenshots from the show, one user tweeted, "I cant even begin to explain whats going on in minx's stream... she basically murdered james charles while dancing to wap" Another added, "Hey guys..dont join minx live rn...shes dancing to wap and shes stabbing james charles and she broke her lamp please im crying #minxsupremacy". And one confused fan asked, "why is minx stabbing james charles to wap ?"
