TUSLA, OKLAHOMA: Oklahoma Red Dirt country singer-songwriter Jake Flint died unexpectedly on November 26, 2022, at the age of 37, just hours after his wedding to Brenda Flint. As she prepared for the funeral, Brenda posted a second heartbreaking tribute to her husband after he died in his sleep on their wedding night.

Brenda took to Facebook to express her grief and wrote, "We should be going through wedding photos but instead I have to pick out clothes to bury my husband in. People aren't meant to feel this much pain. My heart is gone and I just really need him to come back. I can't take much more. I need him here."

Brenda also posted a video dancing and kissing Flint on their wedding day with the heart rendering message, "I don't understand." The cause of death has not yet been determined.

"With a broken heart and in deep grief I must announce that Jake Flint has tragically passed away, I’ve tried several times today to make a post, but you can’t comment on what you can’t process," Jake's manager Brenda Cline wrote Sunday night.

"Jake has a million friends, and I’m not sure how everyone will cope with this tragic loss. We need prayers – it’s all so surreal," Cline continued, adding, "Please, please pray for his new wife, Brenda, Jake’s precious mother, his sister, and the rest of his family and friends. This is going to be incredibly difficult for so many. We love you Jake and in our hearts forever."

Born in 1985, Jake was raised in Holdenville and lived in Mounds. He released his studio album titled 'I’m Not Okay' in 2016 after venturing into The Boohatch, the former Ada home studio of The Great Divide frontman, producer, and Oklahoma Music Hall of Famer Mike McClure. He rose to fame with his three singles including 2017's 'Cowtown', 2018's 'Long Road Back Home' and 2020's 'What's Your Name'.

Tributes have been pouring in after the tragic death of the musician. Remembering his dear friend, Mike Hosty, who played at Flint’s wedding, told The Oklahoman, "He was a singer-songwriter, through and through, and just a big personality, a big heart, and (he'd) bend over backward to do anything for you. When any musician asks you to play at their wedding, it's one of those most important days ... and it's always an honor. I really just like remembering that happy moment of seeing them being married ... but I really feel for Brenda."
