Skilled TV and streaming writer and comedian Jak Knight died on Thursday, July 14 in Los Angeles. He was 28. The unfortunate news of his demise was announced by his family. Jak Knight, who recently co-created the Peacock series ‘Bust Down’, was best known for writing five seasons of award-winning Netflix series ‘Big Mouth’ and ABC’s ‘Black-ish’.
The news of Jak Knight’s death comes months after the legendary actor and comedian Louie Anderson died on January 21. He was admitted to the hospital days earlier after being diagnosed with cancer but sadly could not make it. Bob Saget is another comic icon that Hollywood lost on January 9. Speaking of celebrity deaths, Betty White died at 99 of natural causes on December 31, 2021. Chick Vennera, DMX, Jay Black, and Jeanette Maus are other public figures who passed away last year leaving their loyal fans devastated.

How did Jak Knight die?
Jak Knight originally hailed from Seattle but was based in Los Angeles. He recently wrapped up filming Chelsea Peretti’s feature directorial debut ‘First Time Female Director.’ Knight, who also voiced the character of Devon’ on ‘Big Mouth’, frequently toured for his Netflix special as a part of ‘The Comedy Lineup’ series that aired in 2018.
Speaking of the cause behind his death, the details on the same are still awaited. Jak Knight’s family refrained from sharing the details. MEAWW will keep you posted. However, Jak Knight’s rep did shed light on his untimely demise saying, “Knight’s loved ones ask that their privacy please be respected during this extremely difficult time”, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The talented actor, comedian, and writer got his first job in the industry around the age of 20. Jak Knight earlier opened for -up legend Dave Chappelle and also worked with other skilled artists such as Joel McHale, Eric Andre, Moshe Kasher and Aziz Ansari.

Fellow colleagues and comedians took to Twitter to pay their final condolences to Jak Knight. Comedian Kunal Nanjiani tweeted, “Rest In Peace Jak Knight. Hilarious comedian and a great guy. I can’t believe it.” Comedian Mo Mandel posted, “RIP Jak Knight. I used to see him with his backpack on at all the LA shows when he was literally just a kid. He was funny from the start and always had on an incredible smile. Very sad to read of his passing. Prayers to his family and go check out his comedy.” TV writer Geneffer Gross asserted, “Jak Knight was such a unique talent. The kind of comic who felt like he could bridge the divide through offbeat humor with warmth and infectious silliness that instantly put you at ease. Fire up his show, Bust Down on Peacock, in honor of this special human gone way too soon.”
