Jada Pinkett Smith admits she had an 'unhealthy relationship to porn while trying to practice abstinence'

Jada Pinkett Smith has come to a point where she feels she can be open about some of her deepest and darkest secrets. The actress recently opened up about once having a problematic relationship with pornography. The 47-year-old shared on 'Red Table Talk', her Facebook Watch talk show, that she "had a little porn addiction" in the past.
"I wasn't in a relationship when I had a porn addiction, believe it or not, thank goodness," she told her co-hosts, daughter, Willow Smith, and mother, Adrienne Banfield-Jones. "I actually feel like I was using 'addiction' a little lightly. And maybe I'll say now that I had an unhealthy relationship to porn at one point in my life where I was trying to practice abstinence."

The three women were discussing the poignant topic of "does porn ruin relationships?", which further featured an in-depth discussion with the mother-daughter duos about pornography. After matriarch Adrienne revealed that pornography has been "freeing" for her, Jada explained that she prefers "porn that's more sensual" and "artistic".
Late in the discussion, 18-year-old Willow chimed in, adding, "Because I had you and Daddy [Will Smith] to actually have real conversations with, that stuff didn’t really affect me. Because I had a connection with people that I could talk to about it and knew what the reality of it was."

The young singer added that she's "done seen some stuff" on her brothers' computers, an admission that both her mother and grandmother wished they hadn’t heard. "That's a TMI moment," said Jada, who has been married to actor Will Smith for nearly 22 years.
The actress also revealed she resorted to outside stimulation because she felt an "emptiness", adding that porn gave her "false expectations" when it came to interacting with real partners. "In pornography, you're never tired. There's never a 'no'," said the 'Girls Trip' star.

During the course of the NSFW discussion, Adrienne said that she has some "qualms" about porn, but acknowledged that "it’s been beneficial for [her], too." Her shocked granddaughter asked, "Has it?" to which she replied back, saying: "Yeah. I grew up in a household that just created a lot of shame."
In the more-than-20-minute episode, Jada and her family further discussed how there is a stigma around enjoying porn, but also how addiction to it can be detrimental to a person's career and personal relationships. "I cannot believe that I'm having this conversation with my daughter and my granddaughter," said Adrienne on the show.
