Jack Black confirms role in live-action 'Minecraft' movie, ecstatic fans say 'prophecy is coming true'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: It's been a decade since the announcement of 'Minecraft' movie, inspired by the 2011 video game of the same name. However, a series of changes along the way have made its journey to the big screen quite challenging.
Now it's time to rejoice as the live-action film is finally happening and we've got subtle hints of its cast members.
Emmy Award winner, Jack Black, who recently starred in 'Kung Fu Panda 4' has confirmed the fan speculations by announcing his portrayal of Steve in Warner Bros. Pictures' ambitious project, 'Minecraft.'
Jack Black teases fans with a video from 'Minecraft' set
On Tuesday, April 16, 2024, actor and musician Jack Black took to Instagram to announce his role as the protagonist Steve in the upcoming Minecraft movie.
In the short video, Black performs a song on a "double rainbow" and then enters a vanity with a sign for the Minecraft Movie and the title 'Steve'.

Fans are excited to see Jack Black as Steve in 'Minecraft'
Fans were thrilled when news surfaced back in January that Jack Black had been cast to portray the iconic character 'Steve' in the 'Minecraft' movie. Now his casting is officially confirmed by the star himself.
Fans flocked to his Instagram post, expressing their excitement. One fan wrote, "The joy this man brings me is so unbelievably immeasurable," while another added, "Jack Black just made my day better."

When is the 'Minecraft' movie releasing?
'Minecraft', directed by Jared Hess, has already wrapped up filming, as confirmed by Jason Momoa earlier this week in an Instagram post.
Sharing a few pictures with the cast and crew, he wrote in the caption, "MINECRAFT WE ARE WRAPPING All my aloha to my crew and cast.
