JK Rowling stuns in brand new auburn locks and deep red lip gloss as she makes glamorous red carpet appearance
J. K. Rowling, the creator of the Harry Potter franchise, showed off a magical look as she attended the premiere of HBO documentary 'Finding the Way Home' on Wednesday evening. The 54-year-old author, whose full name is Joanne Rowling, stunned audiences as she hit the red carpet at Hudson Yards in New York with her brand new glam appearance.
Rowling chose a deep red lip gloss with dramatic false lashes with a dash of bold copper-colored locks. It was a markedly different appearance as the author always opted for a more muted make-up in the past.
As J. K. attended the world premiere of the HBO documentary, she was accompanied by Eddie Redmayne, who narrates the film.
The movie reportedly aspires to end the institutionalization of children around the world, gleaning inspiration from Rowling's foundation Lumos. According to HBO, the documentary recounts the stories of eight children from different countries "who have been reunited with family members or placed in loving foster homes after experiencing the trauma of institutionalization."
The movie also seeks to illustrate what life is like for the estimated eight million children across the world who are currently living in orphanages and similar institutions. The writer and philanthropist ensured that for the debut of the film she looked stunning, thereby displaying her gorgeous new look for all to witness. In a bid to show off her youthful good looks, Rowling's makeup included lip gloss that accentuated her pout while her eyeshadow added a touch of glamour.
Rowling revealed earlier this year that Albus Dumbledore and Gellert Grindelwald shared a relationship that was "passionate" and "intense" and also had a "sexual dimension" to it. The clarification was long anticipated by Harry Potter fans, who have speculated about the status of the pair's relationship. This was before Rowling confirmed to them that the Hogwarts headmaster was a homosexual and deeply in love with his former friend.
