Ivanka Trump suffers fashion mishap as sleeves of her chic $1,700 Johanna Ortiz dress flare up in a funny way
Ivanka Trump suffered a brief style disaster on Tuesday as she posed for photos at an event in Colombia. The first daughter, 37, stunned onlookers in a chic $1,650 dress by Bogota designer Johanna Ortiz. But she may have regretted her choice of outfit after it was funnily blown about in the windy weather, Daily Mail reports. Not soon after, the moment launched dozens of memes online.
Ivanka was posing for photos with female police cadets at the General Santander National Police Academy when the wind caused the puffy sleeves to awkwardly blow up, obscuring her face in the process.
The fashion disaster occurred as she posed alongside Colombian Vice President Marta Lucia Ramirez, Colombia's Minister of National Defense Guillermo Botero, and US Deputy Secretary of State John J Sullivan, and inspired quite a few memes.
President Trump's eldest daughter had proved herself to be a total pro in front of the cameras just moments before the slip-up, flashing a wide grin and throwing a peace sign for photographers at the event celebrating Colombia's female entrepreneurs.
While Ivanka rocked her look nonetheless, 59-year-old Sullivan, who accompanied her, reportedly appeared uncomfortable and awkward in front of photographers as he stood next to Ivanka and a group of businesswomen from the Academy of Women Entrepreneurs.
Having said that, Ivanka made a bold style statement as she celebrated local female entrepreneurs in an event to kick off her South American tour.
The cameras were out in force to capture her every move, and she knew it. The first daughter oozed with confidence as she put her most fashionable foot forward for her first official visit to Bogota, donning the trendy outfit by local designer Ortiz.
Ivanka's slim figure was enhanced by ties around the waist that were a part of the mid-length green ensemble. Besides, the peplum detail and the statement sleeves added a breathtaking edge to the blonde beauty.
With that said, Colombia is only the first stop on Ivanka's packed tour of South America, which will also see her visit Argentina, and Paraguay. On this tour, the first daughter is promoting the Trump administration's landmark Women’s Global Development and Prosperity Initiative (W-GDP), a program she helped President Trump launch in February this year.
