Ivanka Trump's 8-year-old daughter Arabella suffers concussion after 'hitting her head hard' while playing dodgeball
President Donald Trump's elder daughter and political adviser, Ivanka Trump, warned parents about the dangers of concussions after she said her daughter fell and hit her head hard.
She posted the warning in her Instagram story on Tuesday, saying that her 8-year-old daughter, Arabella Rose, hurt her head after falling down while playing a dodgeball-type game called Gaga. “Yesterday Arabella slipped playing Gaga and hit her head hard (thankfully, she is fine),” Ivanka wrote. "Parents/Caregivers: below is an excellent resource for concussions – or TBI [traumatic brain injury] – that is worth reading and passing along.”
In the post, she included an informative link to a fact sheet created by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention about concussions. Some of the symptoms mentioned by the CDC for people suffering from concussions were headache or pressure in the head, nausea and vomiting, lack of balance, dizziness and double or blurred vision.
Parents should also keep an eye out for forgetfulness, increasing clumsiness, changes in mood or behavior and unconsciousness in their children after suffering a concussion. Ivanka has three kids with husband Jared Kushner—Arabella, 5-year-old Joseph Frederick and 3-year-old Theodore James.
Although the 37-year-old mother-of-three has been surrounded by criticisms about her role in the administration ever since her father took office in 2017, she has insisted in interviews time and again that she prefers to keep her political views private and never let them affect her personal life.
"I wasn't elected, so my perspective and opinion [are] not as relevant," she told ABC News in November 2018. "What's relevant is the policies of the White House and what I feel deeply privileged every day is that I have the ability to serve our nation and lean in areas where I'm deeply passionate and serve this country that's given me so much."
"I'll always tell you what I'm for, but it is not my place as somebody working within a White House to tell you what I'm against. The only person who knows that is one person—and he knows it," she added.
