Ivana Trump, 70, splits from 47-yr-old Italian ex-husband, says she wants to be 'a free woman' and can 'afford her lifestyle'
Ivana Trump, 70, was seen enjoying a leisurely walk in the sun in Saint-Tropez, France on Thursday just hours after she had announced her split from her longtime Italian lover Rossano Rubicondi, 47.
The Czech native, who has known the former Italian model for more than 20 years, had married Rubicondi in an extravagant $3million Mar-a-Lago ceremony which took place in 2008.
However, the couple broke up the following year only to get back together a year after.
Ivana revealed the news of her "amicable" split on Thursday bringing her fourth marriage to end. She was seen walking her Yorkshire Terrier while sporting a summer floral dress.
The ex-wife of POTUS Donald Trump is a familiar face to the locals who live in the coastal town as she has been holidaying over there for more than two decades.
"I am once again a single woman. I have the freedom to do what I want, with whomever I want to, and I can afford my lifestyle," Ivana said, according to Page Six.
The couple had dated for around six years before getting married in 2008 at her former husband Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago property.
However, just eight months into the marriage, the couple announced their divorce.
Ivana had said in a statement, "Rossano wants to live in Miami and work in Milan. But, I am a New Yorker and my family, friends, and businesses are here."
Aside from rumors suggesting that Rubicondi had been unfaithful to her, Ivana said that it was the long distance which got to them leading to their breakup. "The relationship just ran its course. Rossano spends a lot of time in Italy and I spend a lot of time in New York, Miami, and Saint-Tropez, and he has to work."
"The long-distance relationship really doesn’t work. We had a good time and are friends. The split was amicable," she added.
Rubicondi was Ivana's fourth husband after Alfred Winklmayr, Donald Trump, and Riccardo Mazzucchelli.
"I don’t want to get married again. I’m done. You get married because you want a family. I have three kids and grandkids. I just want to be free and go where I want to go with whoever I want. I want to be a free woman."
She also added that even though she does not want to date, she does "like to have companions" to be able to spend some time with.
"I have plenty of men who take me for lunches and dinners and balls or charity events. I don’t want to be attached," she shared.
Rubicondi also spoke to Page Six and said, "Think whatever you want to think" but noted that Ivana is "always family" for him and has a "good heart". He then added, "We are super close. I have good respect for her."
