'There were no airs about her': Ivana Trump’s neighbor 'shocked' by matriarch's accidental death
Update: Ivana Trump, 73, was found unconscious at the bottom of the stairs of her Upper East Side townhouse on Thursday, July 14. At the time, the cause of death was not determined. Now, a medical examiner has determined that Donald Trump's ex-wife died of blunt impact injuries to the torso as a result of the fall and her death has been ruled an accident.

Ivana Trump’s neighbors are mourning the sudden death of the Manhattan socialite and businesswoman. Ivana's longtime neighbor, who saw the Trump matriarch just a few weeks ago, told The Sun that the 73-year-old's passing inside her Manhattan home was ‘a shock.’ Judy Abrams, who has lived next door to Ivana for 35 years, recalled how Ivana ‘looked terrific’ the last time she saw her, about five or six weeks ago.
She told The Sun, "There were no airs about her. She was always very friendly.” The Trump matriarch appeared to be ‘well put together,’ she recounted, adding that she was ‘moved about how pleasant and warm she was.’ Abrams said, “When I heard that she died, that was a shock. But when I heard that she died of a heart issue, I don’t know how she didn’t do that long ago given everything she's reading and hearing on the news.” Abrams claimed that she had seen Ivana's children, though she didn't know them personally. Calling her neighbor's death ‘very sad,’ Abrams said, “If I were a mother and saw what my kids might be facing, and even my ex-husband, I would’ve had a heart attack long ago. As a mother, I don't know what I'd do." Regardless of the fact that Abrams described her meetings with Ivana as ‘very casual’ over the years, there was one particular experience that she remembered that stood out.

When Ivana Perfume first debuted in the 1990s, according to Abrams, the business magnate dropped several samples and a letter at her neighbor's doorway. Abrams says that it was soon before Christmas and that her niece, who was there, also enjoyed the fragrance. Abrams included a statement about how much her niece loved the perfume in a thank-you email she sent to Ivana. Then, Ivana left Abrams with a further item and a letter on her doorstep. The note said, "Here's for your niece - you don't have to share.”
Ivana Trump, a Czech immigrant who became a mainstay of the Manhattan social scene and Donald Trump's business partner before their divorce, was discovered dead on Thursday, July 14, in her Upper East Side residence at the age of 73. According to a police officer, detectives suspect that Trump's fatal injuries were from a fall down her apartment's stairs, maybe following a medical episode. She was last seen alive when her personal assistant and housekeeper left the apartment on Wednesday at 4:30 pm, according to the official. When they returned, there was no answer at her locked door and they found the body after a building worker forced his way inside. An autopsy will be done to determine the cause of death.

Meanwhile, the former president of the United States Donald Trump released a statement on his Truth Social platform shortly after learning of Ivana's passing. Trump wrote, "I am very saddened to inform all of those that loved her, of which there are many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York City. She was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life. Her pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric. She was so proud of them, as we were all so proud of her. Rest In Peace, Ivana!"
