Kang-tae and Mun-yeong's relationship took a turn for the better, after Mun-yeong confessed to Kang-tae about the nightmares featuring her mother and how scared she is of her. A lot about Mun-yeong's characteristics, including her obsession with sharp objects is a result of her traumatic experience with her mother and this is something that Kang-tae understood only in Episode 7. So now, the two of them have gotten pretty close and there is more understanding between the two of them.

This growing closeness was portrayed clearly when Kang-tae helped Mun-yeong cut her hair. In Episode 8 promo we see Kang-tae get a lot sweeter and softer when dealing with Mun-yeong. All this while, he was reticent, but that has changed. Also, Sang-tae seems to have noticed. In one of the scenes, Sang-tae looks at Mun-yeong and seems unhappy. He asks her why she cut off her beautiful long hair short. He doesn't notice Mun-yeong's expression, but she looks sad and angry all at the same time. Would she burst out from anger like usual or will Kang-tae's presence change her attitude towards this criticism?

There is more to Sang-tae's criticism as well. He is used to adoring the author who had long hair and this sudden change in her might have him recalculate things and hints about his change is portrayed in the promo as well. A scene with him sitting in a bus as he cranes his neck to look at something, or someone he had to leave behind, hints at Kang-tae and Mun-yeong spending time together without Sang-tae.

There is also a scene where Sang-tae attempts to walk in between Mun-yeong and Kang-tae but is unable to interfere and these begin to irk him. He becomes insecure. At the end of the promo, we see Kang-tae trying to have a conversation with Sang-tae about how he should give things that someone else needs when required but Sang-tae in response asks, "What will I be left with if I give away everything?"

This conversation could be a result of the nightmare doll that Kang-tae had given to Mun-yeong in the previous episode and his response comes off shockingly relatable to the situation he is in personally with his brother. If he were to let Kang-tae be taken away by Mun-yeong, then what will he be left with? The doll is used to express this thought and we wonder how Kang-tae will take this.

'It's Okay to Not Be Okay' originally airs on tvN on Saturdays and Sundays at 9 pm KST in South Korea and can be streamed on Netflix.
