FORT MYERS, FLORIDA: Real estate expert Scott McGillivray is all set to return to the screens with a new season of 'Vacation House Rules', enlightening families on how to unlock the full potential of their vacation property. The reality star will provide his expertise to the most neglected abodes to transform them into unique, stunning, and profitable vacation homes for visitors to enjoy.

HGTV has multiple renovation shows and one of them is 'Property Brothers', with the renovation experts Jonathan and Drew Scott. The 'Property Brothers' stars are often speculated to be related to 'Vacation House Rules' star McGillivray. But are they?

Are Scott McGillivray and 'Property Brothers' stars Jonathan and Drew related?

Jonathan, Drew, and McGillivray have appeared on television together several times. McGillivray, who hosts 'Income Property' on HGTV, served as a judge in the Season 6 premiere of Drew and Jonathan's HGTV show 'Brother vs Brother'. Additionally, they have also appeared together on HGTV's 'Insider', a show hosted by Drew and Jonathan's brother, JD Scott. Although the 'Property Brothers' stars and McGillivray are all Canadian renovation experts, they aren't related.

McGillivray previously revealed that he has similarities to the Scott brothers. He said, "We both have shows, we both are the same age." He added, "Pretty much, if you describe one of us, it would look like all of us." However, McGillivray also noted there was a major difference between them: He and the Scott brothers got into their careers from opposite directions. McGillivray started investing in real estate because he wanted to grow his portfolio, and the TV show came out of his excellent work. Meanwhile, Jonathan and Drew always wanted to get into TV and acting, and they use real estate as a means to make enough money to pursue their dream.

Scott McGillivray chooses 'Property Brothers' over 'Fixer Upper'

McGillivray's strong friendship with Jonathan and Drew was once reflected during a game show. During People's rapid-fire quiz, McGillivray chose Drew and Jonathan’s show 'Property Brothers' over Chip and Joana Gaines' 'Fixer Upper' as his favorite. During the game session, he noted, "Oh, they're gonna kill me." He further revealed that he has met Chip and Joana several times, and he likes them. But he noted that he knows the 'Property Brothers' hosts too, and as he has to see them sooner than Chip and Joana, "I'm gonna say the Property Brothers!"

'Vacation House Rules' Season 4 premieres on Saturday, June 3, at 9 pm ET/PT on HGTV.
