Is Stephen Curry's golf record 'pure luck'? xQc reacts to NBA player's 152-yard hole-in-one, Internet says 'he knows nothing about sports'
AUSTIN TEXAS: Felix Lengyel, widely known as xQc, has established himself as a prominent live streamer, expanding his online presence to platforms like Kick. With an impressive following of over 423k on Kick and more than 11 million on Twitch, xQc regularly interacts with his dedicated fanbase, organizing watch parties and sharing his opinions on fellow streamers.
During a recent live stream, xQc took a moment to discuss NBA player Stephen Curry's remarkable achievement in golf. For the unversed, Curry, known for his basketball prowess, ventured into the world of golf and made headlines with a record-breaking performance at the American Century championship, making a remarkable hole-in-one with a 152 yard shot.
‘You're not aiming for the actual hole itself’
In a recent discussion during a live stream, xQc shared his perspective on Curry's sensational hole-in-one. Contrary to popular opinion, xQc believes the incredible shot was "pure luck." He made an interesting observation, noting that golfers typically aim for their shots to land near the cup rather than directly inside it.
xQc claimed, "Is that good? Chat, hole-in-ones are pure luck, let's be honest. Chat, let's be honest, chat. There is no hole-in-one that isn't pure luck." He continued, "Because it is a simple concept. Because every strike that you do has a purpose. Right? Has a purpose. There is so much garbage that can happen to a ball, for it to be a hole-in-one, that most of you don't even control. Okay? You drive the ball to drive it in the right direction. You're not aiming for the actual hole itself. That's just not what they are doing."
"Trying to get the ball, like, what the f**k are you talking about? Out of that, the wedge, the iron, the f**king putter... yeah! Most of it is luck!" he added. However, Curry's Instagram profile offers a peek into the dedication and hard work he has put in, and it's unlikely his accomplishments are solely the result of luck.
'He knows nothing about sports'
xQc's comments sparked a debate among his fans. One of them said, "Right to some degree. You have to be super precise to the point where the wind effects if it goes in or not, definitely some luck involved, but in general getting within 5 feet is takes a lot of skill." Another fan said, "He is always like that. If someone else does something good, its luck, if he does it, its skill. I eat 10 cheeseburgers in one sitting and he says its not skill..." One YouTube user wrote, "That's like saying Shrouds shots are lucky because he's also just aiming like the rest of us." Another claimed, "Guys xqc is a pro at Golf with Your Friends, what he’s saying must be true." Someone else wrote, "I really agree with this take from the streamer/goblin who sits at his computer all day eating mcdonalc and knows nothing about sports or physics!🤔."
