Selena Gomez shows off her cast as she recovers from recently fractured hand after 'tripping' over a long summer dress
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Selena Gomez has provided an update to her fans about her recent hand injury.
The 'Ice Cream' singer shared two images on Friday, August 1, on her Instagram Story showing the cast that she has been wearing lately as she recovers from a recently fractured hand.
The images showed the 31-year-old sitting on a gray and white outdoor couch sporting an all-gray outfit.
In one of the photos, she was seen staring away from the camera while the other saw her gazing into the lens with a slight pout.
Her new black cast was also visible for her fans to see which perfectly complemented her gray outfit and the outdoor furniture.
How did Selena Gomez fracture her hand?
The new updates related to her injury come shortly after the two-time Grammy Award nominee disclosed on the Ellen K Morning Show that she suffered the terrible injury when after "tripping" over a long summer dress.
"I wish I had, like, a really cool story that I saved someone’s life or something," Gomez told People.
"I was in a long dress — it was a summer dress — and I was walking from my car to my house and tripped," she said.
After listening to Gomez's story, Ellen, from a mother's point of view, told the singer that it's good that Gomez "didn't break" her teeth.
"Yes, that's what the doctor said," the 'Wizards of Waverly Place' star added. "I guess there is a silver lining but this is not fun. This is not fun," she continued.

Gomez previously revealed the news of her injury on Instagram where she commented on a fan account's post while promoting her latest dance track 'Single Soon.'
“Broke my hand and had surgery,” she wrote replying to fans promoting the song.
“I don’t care about selling anything. I’m just happy to make music with my friends,” she added.

"Thank you guys for all the love on 'Single Soon,'" Gomez wrote about the new track on Instagram last week.
"It’s a playful anthem about being comfortable in your own skin and loving your own company… and it’s also really fun to dance to! 💞," she said.
Gomez told Ellen of her new track, "This technically isn't the first single but it is a song I've been holding onto for about six years. I wanted to release it so we revamped it, basically, and I wanted it to be a fun, end-of-the-summer moment."
