Is Peter David OK? Legendary comic book writter behind 'Spider-Man' hospitalized after series of strokes
WINTER GARDEN, FLORIDA: Legendary comic book writer Peter David, who is known for several big titles including 'Spider-Man' and 'The Incredible Hulk', was reportedly hospitalized after he had several strokes.
The writer’s wife, Kathleen, told TMZ, that earlier, David attempted to get out of bed, but failed because he was unable to move his legs. After five hours of him being unable to leave the couch, she called 911. She was able to lift him to his feet and carry him downstairs. He was then transported to a hospital by paramedics. According to Kathleen, she later discovered that her husband had experienced a big stroke followed by several mild strokes, and turned gray when they arrived at the hospital. She also revealed that her husband, who has written for some of Marvel and DC's most famous superheroes, was still in the hospital and was undergoing tests to determine the next course of action. Two encouraging signs, according to Kathleen, were that he could speak and was already fussing about still being hospitalized.

Kathleen also informed TMZ that David's medical expenses were piling up and that a friend launched a GoFundMe page to help her. The GoFundMe Page, which has raised over $37,000 as of now, reads, “Hi, everyone. I'm fundraising for author Peter David and his family. He's had some compounded health problems, and the bills are piling up! On top of kidney failure, and the steep medical bills incurred from that, he just had another series of strokes AND a mild heart attack.”
“As we wish him a swift recovery and send our love and support to his wife Kathleen and his family, let's also pitch in and help with their medical bills and living expenses. Please give what you can to relieve some of the immense stress that this family is going through right now. On behalf of Peter, Kathleen, and the whole family, thank you!” the statement on the page read. David is known for his big comic book titles, including 'Supergirl', 'Aquaman' and for co-creating the 'Star Trek: New Frontier' graphic novel. He has also received over nine awards over the years for his outstanding works and contributions to the comic world.
