LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Celebrities have taken to social media to share their well wishes and reactions in the wake of Madonna's sudden hospitalization. The legendary pop star was hospitalized in New York City after being discovered unconscious during preparations for her highly-anticipated tour. The singer had been working extremely hard, spending 12 hours a day rehearsing for several weeks in preparation for her tour.

In a statement posted on Instagram on Wednesday, June 29, Madonna's manager, Guy Oseary, provided an update on the performer's health. "On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which led to a several-day stay in the ICU. Her health is improving, however, she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected," he wrote. "At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which include the tour. We will share more details with you soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows," added Oseary.

'Sending our prayers'

Oseary's comments section on Instagram was flooded with well wishes from celebrities expressing their support and sending positive thoughts to Madonna during this challenging time. "Hope she feels better very soon!" Zooey Deschanel commented. "TAKE GOOD CARE OF OUR QUEEN," 'RuPaul's Drag Race' judge Michelle Visage wrote. "Sending her love and good light vibrations for a good recovery," wrote Rosanna Arquette, who starred alongside Madonna in 1985's 'Desperately Seeking Susan'.

Rita Wilson wrote, "Sending Madonna my prayers for a speedy recovery." "Sending her so much love from us," actress Isla Fisher wrote. "Sending [light]," Perez Hilton commented. "So much love," 'Game of Thrones' star Gwendoline Christie wrote. 'I don't know what's going on with Madonna'

Comedian Kathy Griffin expressed her support for Madonna by uploading a TikTok video in which she paid tribute to the Queen of Pop and called for kindness towards others. "I don't know what's going on with Madonna. I don't know, but I love her and I want to defend her. I have never met her. I have seen her in concert, of course, because I am a gay man," she joked. Griffin added that Madonna has "provided the world with decades of music and entertainment" and that she doesn't "like how people are already piling on and making fun of her because she is obviously quite ill." "I think a lot of it is ageism and misogyny ... I don't care about her fillers. They're going to go away if she feels like it, or not. I care about her health," she continued.

Meanwhile, Madonna's close friend Rosie O'Donnell provided an update on Madonna's condition on Instagram, stating that the pop icon is "feeling good." Madonna's Celebration tour was intended to commemorate the 40th anniversary of her illustrious music career, serving as a special milestone for the iconic artist. Her previous tour, which commenced in September 2019, was unfortunately cut short in March 2020 due to Covid-19 pandemic.
