NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Josh Gad, the Disney star known for voicing Olaf in 'Frozen,' was not able to perform at his Broadway show 'Gutenberg! The Musical!' on Saturday afternoon, October 7, due to a “medical emergency.”
The emergency required him to visit the hospital. He expressed hope that he will be back on the stage by evening, reports People.
What happened to Josh Gad?
Although Gad did not reveal the nature of his condition, he shared the news with his fans in a video message posted on his Instagram account.
He said he was “dealing with a bit of a medical emergency that I have to go deal with right now” and that his doctors advised him not to wait until Monday, October 9, to address it.
“I would rather be spending my afternoon with all of you than at a hospital, but I hope that this gets resolved pretty quickly and I’ll be back on stage with my buddy [Andrew] Rannells as soon as possible,” Gad said in the video.

Gad wrote in the caption of his post, “Not the news I’d like to share, but life happens. I’m dealing with a medical emergency that despite telling my doctors I wanted to wait till Monday to address, they thought needed to be addressed immediately."
"So, off to hospital for (hopefully) quick treatment and then with any luck will be back by this evening🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏.”
Fans send love and prayers for Josh Gad's recovery
Fans were quick in sending love and prayers for his speedy recovery, asking him not to worry about not appearing on the show.

Kevin Pollak, an American comedian wrote, "Feel BETTER immediately, please!!!!!."
However, actor Jesse Tyler posed a question on his post asking if this was "for that face lift you were telling me about?"
Gad is starring in 'Gutenberg! The Musical!,' a comedy about two aspiring playwrights who are trying to pitch their musical about the inventor of the printing press.
The show is part of the Broadway’s 'Back' series at the Town Hall theater in New York City.
Gad’s co-star Andrew Rannells is best known for his roles in 'The Book of Mormon' and 'The Prom.' The show runs until October 10.
