GREENSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA: 'My Big Fat Fabulous Life' star Whitney Way Thore's father Glenn Way Thore was recently involved in a horrific car accident. Glenn was admitted to a North Carolina emergency room this week after a serious car crash.
Eight months after the death of her mother Barbara 'Babs' Thore, Whitney's father Glenn's car crash sparked concern. Whitney shared details about her father's car crash in an Instagram video.
Whitney said, "Over the weekend I got one of those calls that you never want to get. My dad had been in a wreck." She further noted, "Luckily, he was just a few minutes away from my house so I was able to get there quickly."
Glenn was trying to cross an intersection when a driver coming the opposite way ran a red light and slammed into him. Whitney added that the driver and his passenger were fine but they were just really shaken up.
Glenn was rushed to the nearby hospital and Whitney took him to the Emergency Room where he got "X-rays, scans, and a CAT scan" done. Whitney further explained that her father "refused morphine" at the hospital despite being "in a lot of pain".

Whitney Way Thore updates fans about dad Glenn's car crash
After the terrible car accident, Whitney Way Thore shared an update on her father's health. She noted that her father thought he broke his ribs but he is totally fine.
She shared an update video which was filmed the day after the crash. The video showed Whitney and Glenn sitting side-by-side in her car, and she laughed at his expressions.
Glenn is seemingly an avid coffee drinker because Whitney explained how he said he needed to go to Starbucks or the employees at the coffee shop would worry about him. With their coffees secured, Whitney asked Glenn what he was going to do today and he replied, "Rest."
The 'My Big Fat Fabulous Life' star wrote, "This helicopter daughter is helicoptering! 🚁 Hug your daddies tight. Glenn Thore will be protected at all costs!" Meanwhile, Glenn was showered with heartwarming messages from well-wishers.
Who is Whitney Way Thore's father Glenn?
Glenn Way Thore became popular after his support to Whitney Way Thore during her breakup with ex-fiance Chase Severino. He married Barbara Thore in August 1977 and starred alongside her in the TLC show 'My Big Fat Fabulous Life'.
Glenn has two children -- Whitney Way Thore and Hunter Thore -- with Barbara, who suffered from a stroke and Covid in 2022, which was covered on the show. Glenn lost his wife Barbara in 2022 and has since been grieving.
Glenn has worked in the graphic design industry since 2003. He earned a Bachelor's in history and political science from Guilford College.
Glenn is the VP General Manager for Millennium Print Group in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He was the account manager at Greensboro and Hutchison Allgood.

Whitney revealed that her dad Glenn, her brother Hunter, and she held Babs as she took her last breaths at 10.32 pm, the same time she gave birth to Whitney forty years ago.
Whitney revealed her mom had cerebral amyloid angiopathy, which is an untreatable progressive condition caused by proteins in the blood vessels of the brain that can cause "dementia, seizures, or like in my mom's case, brain bleeding." Barbara had three strokes since 2017, with the last one occurring on November 13, 2022.
Since the heartbreaking loss of her mother, Whitney has been by her father Glenn's side. Glenn has been grieving since the loss of his beloved wife Babs.

Who is 'My Big Fat Fabulous Life' star Whitney Way Thore?
Whitney Way Thore was born on April 14, 1984, in Greensboro, North Carolina, to her parents Glenn and Barbara Thore. Whitney attended the Theatre Summer Enrichment Program at the Governor's School of North Carolina of Meredith College.
She completed her graduation from Page High School in 2002. Whitney later attended Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, majoring in Theatre.
However, soon after her graduation, Whitney relocated to South Korea to teach English to school children. Whitney rose to fame after starring in TLC hit show 'My Big Fat Fabulous Life'.
