Carrie Preston starrer 'The Good Wife' set to expand its universe with iconic spin-off 'Elsbeth'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Touted as one of the most anticapted dramas, CBS 'Elsbeth' is the spin-off of the much-loved legal drama 'The Good Wife.' 

The series, which is going to premiere its pilot on February 29, was first announced on January 31, 2023, and will also be available to stream on Paramount+

While 'The Good Wife' aired from 2009 to 2016, it was followed by a popular six-season standalone sequel, 'The Good Fight', in 2017.

The character of Elsbeth Tascioni previously had a specific episode in 2014 in 'The Good Wife,' and also appeared in 'The Good Fight.'

As it continues its verse, the creators of 'The Good Wife', Robert King and Michelle King, are also headlining the spin-off series. 

The spinoff has many parallels with its predecessor, such as its backdrop; both shows are set against the background of courtroom dramas and will feature strong and intellectual female characters.

The ten-part series centres on Elsbeth Tascioni (Carrie Preston), an eccentric lawyer with impeccable observational skills and autism who uses her unusual abilities to solve cases with ease.

After establishing a prosperous career in Chicago, Elsbeth relocates to New York City, where she assists the NYPD in apprehending criminals.
