'Teen Mom 2' star Briana DeJesus has revealed that she has been diagnosed with lupus after suffering from a medical crisis for months. The reality star has been open about her health struggles, sharing a personal update earlier this summer.

On Sunday, September 5, Briana opened up about her health issues and said, "Got diagnosed with lupus a few days ago and I’m not gonna lie—I was definitely sad about it but I’m starting to finally feel better." Back in July, she revealed that had tested positive for the likely diagnosis. She wrote at the time: "I am so sad. My Ana test came back positive," and revealed that it probably meant she had lupus as "everyone in my family has it."

An "ANA test looks into the number of antinuclear antibodies in the blood, and if an ANA comes back positive, it means the body's immune system is attacking its own tissues or an autoimmune reaction," according to the Mayo Clinic. This issue is related to diseases such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and scleroderma.

It is reported that back in 2017, Briana’s mother, Roxanne, was also diagnosed with lupus. Aside from her medical concerns, the mother of two is also dealing with a recent breakup from her fiancé Javi Gonzalez.

As soon as Briana's latest tweet came to light, people started talking about it. One person said, "Does your mom have lupus as well? I swear I heard it mentioned before but I may be getting it mixed up. Hope you feel better and better every day." While another one said, " I too have Lupus! I also had an amputation of my left leg (from a blood clot) in January. I’m exhausted ALL the time so I sympathize with you! Take your meds, it’ll be manageable!"

Another one posted a screenshot and wrote, "Idk if it was something you already ruled out, but breast implant illness is real and can cause some crappy things to happen w/your body. Also many people are diagnosed w/lupus within a few years after getting them in. Just something to consider. I hope you feel better soon!" Another one said, "I'm sorry, I have an autoimmune disorder, it sucks but as long as you take care of yourself and eat healthy it really helps, does your mom also have lupus"
