NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Blake Lively has made it public that she is expecting their fourth child together with Ryan Reynolds. The 35-year-old ‘Gossip Girl’ star revealed on Thursday, September 15, at the Forbes Power Women's Summit, where she also showed off her growing belly, that she and her husband are starting a family again. Lively donned a sheer, gold sequin-covered dress with hoop earrings, a pale gold ribbon headband, and cream platform heels to the 10th annual ceremony where she is being honored.
Lively made a reference to her and Reynolds' expanding family during her speech at the summit when she said, “I just like to create. Whether that’s baking or storytelling or businesses or humans, I just really like creating.” according to E! News. Meanwhile, Lively and Reynolds, who have been married since 2012, are already parents to three daughters, James, seven, Inez, five, and Betty, two. The actress from ‘A Simple Favor’ chose to announce her third pregnancy in a similar way in 2019, showing off her growing belly at the premiere of Ryan Reynolds' movie 'Detective Pikachu'.

The couple's revelation of a growing family comes after the 'Deadpool' actor claimed that his choice to take a career break from acting was mostly motivated by a desire to spend more time with his kids. In a 2021 interview with Jessi Hempel, senior editor at LinkedIn News, Reynolds talked about prioritizing his family and how he doesn't want to miss time with his kids. He said at the time, “The biggest thing for me, and I know you have kids as well, is that I don’t want to miss this time with my kids.”

The actor, who has openly expressed his happiness at being a girl dad, added that he wants his kids to be able to enjoy life like regular humans and have a very normal routine. According to Reynolds, as his children grow up, he wants to ensure that he is a present father, a role that he said he really enjoys. He said, “Now that they’re in school, they have a somewhat normal schedule. I think it’s totally important for their development and I really enjoy being a present dad. I love taking them to school in the morning, I love picking them up.”
Meanwhile, Lively also joked on TODAY saying that she and Reynolds are "breeders," indicating that the couple expected to continue growing their family after December 2020. “I’m one of five kids. My husband is one of four, so we’re officially breeders. You can go on our website and we will give you some of our children,” she remarked further.
