Bindi Irwin was already pregnant when she announced her engagement to childhood sweetheart Chandler Powell, says report
A week after Bindi Irwin, daughter of late Steve Irwin, announced her engagement to her childhood sweetheart Chandler Powell, a report has claimed that she is going to be a pregnant wife.
The report, published by New Idea and quoting an anonymous source who spoke to OK! Magazine, claims that the bride-to-be was already pregnant even before announcing her engagement with Powell. The unidentified insider claimed that the pair wanted to get pregnant from a very young age but held off from starting a family of their own at Bindi's mother, Terri Irwin's, request.
"They’ve been talking about starting a family since she was 19, but her mother Terri begged her to wait until she was 21," the source spilled. "They’ve upheld their end of the bargain so now they can’t wait to start trying for a baby. Bindi’s already told friends that she would not be fussed if she were a pregnant bride."
Powell got down on his knees on Bindi's 21st birthday at Australia Zoo after luring her out to the spot under the pretext of a photo shoot. The moment was captured against a natural backdrop.
"July 24th 2019 On my birthday I said ‘yes’ and ‘forever’ to the love of my life. Chandler, close to 6 years ago I fell in love with you and every day since has been a whirlwind of adventure and true happiness. I’m so looking forwarding to spending our forever together as your wife. Here’s to a lifetime of friendship, purpose and unconditional love. — Now let’s get married already!" Bindi wrote in an Instagram post, sharing pictures of the proposal.
In a separate post, she showed off the sparkling engagement rock on her finger. The proposal eventually did turn into a photo shoot as the couple posed for a number of intimate pictures afterward.
"The most beautiful surprise. Chandler and Robert worked together to capture the moment I said ‘YES’. We were in the gardens of Australia Zoo and it was beyond perfect. I never even knew Robert was there photographing and I’ll always be grateful to have these special memories of the most amazing day of my life," she wrote in the second post.
Although Bindi’s camp has yet to deny or confirm the circulating rumors of her pregnancy, the insider said that the 'Dancing With the Stars' Season 21 winner has reportedly told her loved ones that she wouldn’t mind being a pregnant bride.
"If Bindi and Chandler have a baby soon then she’ll have a whole generation of Irwins to raise!" the source said, adding that the couple's decision had the full support of Terri.
