Irina Shayk slammed for 'forgetting her pants' at Miami F1 GP
MIAMI, FLORIDA: Irina Shayk has sparked controversy concerning her fashion choices. The catwalk sensation received criticism online for attending the 2023 Formula One Miami Grand Prix without wearing trousers, which many regarded to be an "inappropriate" outfit for the event.
The 37-year-old supermodel uploaded pictures of the occasion to Instagram on Sunday, May 7. She could be seen in the photos wearing a translucent black dress over a white T-shirt and black knickers. She accessorized with a black hat, a necklace, a tiny handbag, a pair of long white Nike socks, and a pair of black pointed-toe heels, she finished off her ensemble.

‘Dress normal for some occasions’
Many people immediately responded to Irina's eye-catching appearance by criticizing her choice of clothing in the post's comments section. In particular, one person commented, "Not the right outfit for a race [Laughing with tears emoji]”. "You are stunning, but please don't call this fashion, classy, or trendy", said another.
The criticism continued after that. Another person wrote that her attire was "inappropriate," adding, "Dress normal for some occasions, it's so inappropriate for a race”. In the meantime, a fourth person said, "I don't get it.. why dress like u going to the beach!" in reference to her racing attire.
“I don't understand”, a fifth questioned, continuing, “what is taking place with our fashion? The elegance and class?" A sixth person expressed the same displeasure, saying, "Fashion means when beauties dress ugly." Another seven said, "Sorry but the outfit is ugly... no taste", in a more direct manner.
‘I've never really [cared about] people's opinions’
It was unclear if Irina was aware of the online criticisms. However, the following day, when she went back to the racecourse, she wore a long dress with an animal print in black and green. The single mother accessorized the Tisci-designed dress with a pair of large black sunglasses, a pair of black high boots, and a pair of big hoop earrings.
Irina, who shares a duaghter Lea with Bradley Cooper, experienced backlash for her Formula One look more than two weeks after she admitted that she had previously been told she would fail as a model because she was "too sexy."
She stated in a Harper's Bazaar article that was published on April 19, "I've never really [cared about] people's opinions, even early in my modeling career, when they were like, 'Oh my God, she doesn't really look like a model. She will never be a model because she is too gorgeous and not slim enough'.
