Ireland Baldwin attacked and robbed by woman 'high on drugs', model shares photos of bruised face
Ireland Baldwin has shared pictures of her facial bruising after she was attacked and robbed by a woman who was “high on drugs”. The 24-year-old posted two pictures on her Instagram page in an attempt to “remind everyone to be really careful”. Revealing her facial injuries to her 618K followers, Ireland wrote: “Yesterday in the late afternoon, I was attacked by a woman who was high out of her mind on drugs and desperate for cash. She decked me in my face in a parking lot and took my belongings and jumped in a getaway car while her husband took off. All was sorted with the police and she was arrested.”
She added: “Luckily I had witnesses and got assisted really quickly. The cops told me this is happening frequently because people are desperate for money right now due to Coronavirus and people being out of work. There is a lot of theft and muggings going down. Posting this to remind everyone to be really careful and watch your surroundings. These are really difficult times and we need to look out for one another.”
However, Ireland -- daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger -- did not specify where exactly she was attacked but she is currently based in Los Angeles, California. Her post soon went viral as more than 22,000 people liked it, while many commented on it showing their support for her. The 6’1” model’s stepmother, Hilaria Baldwin, commented on the post as she wrote: “I’m so glad you are safe now. We love you ❤️” While hairstylist Scotty Cunha said, “Omg stay safe!!!! Sending you love!!!"
Ireland’s fans also wished her well as one advised, “Gasp!!!! Kung fu training is in order, next time you’ll flip them on their face and tie them to a pole with an insane impossible knot and they can sit their high ass there until they come down”. “Let’s all take a moment to to appreciate your comment on things like this happening more frequently due to the lack of economic resources for these people during covid. Violence is never a good choice but instead of being scared of being attacked by a desperate person we should focus our energy on pressuring those wealthy/powerful people who could changed the narrative right now,” added another user.
While a third user shared a similar experience in their neighborhood as they wrote: “This just happened the other day in my neighborhood as well...Whitestone, NY residents: Caution, be alert at all times. Yesterday around 5pm on 6th ave between 147th and 149th a white SUV with a male driver and female occupant attacked my aunt in her driveway. They drove up asking her a question and when she got close the woman got out, grabbed my 70 year old aunt and pushed her into the backseat. They stole her jewelry and then drove off. This could happen to any of us. We need to be vigilant and always be aware of your surroundings. The police were notified and on the case. Look out for one another. We may be too complacent because we live in a good neighborhood. These people know that, they know what they are doing.”
