'Invasion' follows global events on different continents and saw the invasion of aliens that brought along power outages, death, and more. Ever since we saw the aliens in Episode 6 one thing that was shown constantly were the spore-like patches that were left behind on surfaces. Another occurrence is that whenever they would leave a place, a black sticky substance would be left behind that made hissing sounds and released something unknown. The tenth and final episode saw the world celebrate the fall of the aliens. Trevante who'd been stranded could finally go back to the US, but before he left an officer had some questions regarding the times he encountered the aliens. He further reveals that the authorities suspected that the extraterrestrials were terraforming. For those unfamiliar with the term, it basically means making a planet habitable by changing the atmosphere to that similar to their home planet.

Although it looked like mankind had won, the victory seemed a little too easy. The finale sees all the characters experience strange phenomena like a compass going haywire, spotting glowing lights in the sky, and the interior of the spaceship left behind in the desert rippling. As we lead up to the final moment everyone looks up in shock ad senses that something is wrong. The last scene shows a massive spaceship coming into view as Trevante and his wife stare at the shocking new occurrence.

Seems like it was the aliens' plan all along to make their proper arrival a success by making the Earth more suited to them. The death of all the other creatures was not for nil as they completed their mission with the mothership arriving as planned.

All ten episodes of 'Invasion' are now streaming on Apple TV+.
