Spoilers for 'Invasion' Episode 7 - 'Hope'

Episode 7 finally saw Aneesha (Golshifteh Farahani) ask Luke (Azhy Robertson) the million-dollar question about where he found the mysterious piece of unknown material which helped kill an alien. But alas that question remained unanswered as Ahmed's (Firas Nassar) injuries interfere. Trevante (Shamier Anderson) finally manages to get out and board a plane that's leaving after he finds out the base he was heading towards has been destroyed. Casper (Billy Barratt) and the other four manage to make it back to London, but only after hearing the news of the alien invasion for the first time since their stranding.
After the exciting Episode 6, Episode 7 backtracked and slowed down its pace once more. Trevante's plotline, which has been the most frustratingly boring, may finally see some change after having the soldier wander about aimlessly in the desert for six episodes straight. Aneesha and her family's story, which was the wildest and surprised us in episode 6, has reverted back to familial problems as Ahmed tries to make nice with his wife. Casper, who along with Jamila (India Brown) sees an alien after initially disbelieving the lady who helped them, just got super interesting after he confessed to hearing a voice inside his head. As he explains that it's something outside but feels like it's inside him, theories regarding his epilepsy and how his brain varies, maybe picking on the extraterrestrials communication arise. Now, this is one character whose story arc we were waiting to be explored, and are more curious and excited about what's to follow. We won't shy away and tell you straight that the Japan arc has single-handedly been carrying the show so far and boy did it not disappoint again. Mitsuki (Shioli Kutsuna) and her team in a stunning revelation may just have tapped into the aliens' communication network with the guess that they function as a hive mind. She also manages to locate the HOSHI's distress beacon but things that have been going smoothly so far, go down the drain as the authorities butt in.
Episode 7 although reverting back to a slow pace compared to the previous episode's hectic speed still managed to hold our attention with its complex new revelations. The episode saw many characters' stories move forward as they all are given a taste of hope along with a reality check. A solid watch, we look forward to next week's episode.
'Invasion' is streaming on Apple TV+ with new episodes released every Friday.
