'Put on some spf and be done': Internet slams Gwen Stefani for using 'ridiculous' amount of makeup
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘No Doubt’ lead vocalist Gwen Stefani, 53, has come under the internet scanner for using too much makeup in one of her beauty tutorial videos. 'The Voice' coach posted the video through the official channel of her makeup line, GXVE Beauty, where she could be seen showing the steps to do nose contouring using her new line of contours.
While she posted the tutorial with a detailed explanation, her fans didn’t take kindly to the tutorial. She captioned the post, “Get the perfect nose contour every time with Pick It Up.”

‘Love must look good on me’
The makeup mogul once said in an interview to The Daily Telegraph Stellar that she started looking better after she started dating her present husband Blake Shelton. She said, "Blake is the greatest guy. I look back over the past few years and look at pictures of when I first started kissing Blake, and I look the best I've ever looked in my life in those photos. Love must look good on me. I feel like that does show through – it really does."
During that time, the ‘Cool’ singer also spoke about how elated she felt when people complimented her on her ageless look, "People talking about my aging is a compliment, I guess," she said, adding, "I'm kind of obsessed with how I'm aging, too."
Nevertheless, she acknowledged the presence of peer pressure and the need to be yourself. The ‘Rich Girl’ crooner continued, "It's really hard for everyone to age and have to face life. Especially for females and people who have been in the spotlight it can be daunting, but you tackle it by just trying to be the most beautiful version of yourself inside and out."
'Too much work'
A user commented on Stefani's video, "Too much makeup! Ridiculous." While another commented on the paraphernalia attached to make up saying, "Soo much detail and shading and contouring and hiding… just put on some spf and be done… sure wear some foundation but all’s the pomp and circumstance is unrealistic." Another said, "Dislike!! She already has a nice nose and wants to contour it to make it look more thinner?? Wtf?! This sh*t continues to perpetuate poor body image and self loathing! I'm Asian with a flat, somewhat wide nose and love it!!"
Someone else commented on the multi-step makeup routine, "How do you do that without clogging your pores and breaking out like your a teenage?" Another commented, "How bout we just love the nose we were blessed with." Another irate user wrote, "Stupidly time consuming." Another social media user reacted, "You are so much prettier without alot of makeup."
