NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: The social media platform X, owned by tech mogul Elon Musk, has found itself entangled in controversy as advertisers withdraw amid rising concerns over antisemitism on the platform.

In response, Musk and his supporters have taken a defiant stance, with Musk launching a lawsuit against progressive watchdog organization Media Matters for America.

The lawsuit alleges data manipulation with the intent to "destroy" the platform, which was formerly known as Twitter.

Major corporations, including Apple, Disney, IBM, and Comcast, have halted advertisements on X following a report by Media Matters alleging the platform of giving space to antisemitic content, as reported by BBC.

Musk's legal threat prompted accusations of bullying from Media Matters. The situation intensified as conservative figures expressed support through social media posts, financial contributions, and calls for an attorney general's investigation.

Following this news, Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham took to X to share her opinion on the matter as she took a brutal jab at the media watchdog.

However, the internet did not respond well to Ingraham’s remark as several X users slammed her.

Laura Ingraham calls out Media Matters for America over growing concerns around Elon Musk’s platform X

Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham took to X and wrote, “This is how the left wing smear machine Media Matters, founded with $1 million from George Soros, dictates coverage at major networks.  Corporations that fall for this bullying are part of the problem.”

Her tweet featured an article titled, “With X under fire, Elon Musk digs in and finds support from conservatives,” by NBC News.

In the title, it was reported that Elon Musk has filed a lawsuit against Media Matters for America for attempting to “destroy” the platform.

The advertiser backlash poses a significant threat to Elon Musk's X, marking a formidable challenge for the typically unapologetic billionaire who shows no signs of yielding.

Two additional advertisers, Fox Sports and Ubisoft, announced on Monday that they were suspending ad campaigns and expenditures on the platform in response to concerns about their ads appearing alongside antisemitic content.

The growing list of brands distancing themselves includes Paris Hilton's 11:11 Media, which withdrew an advertising campaign due to apprehensions about antisemitism and pro-Nazi content on X.

This move comes after CEO Linda Yaccarino had previously highlighted a partnership with Hilton and her company as the platform aimed to attract influencers and celebrities.

As advertisers depart from the platform, both Musk and Yaccarino have publicly asserted their opposition to antisemitism and support for free speech.

Simultaneously, they have taken an offensive stance against Media Matters. X filed a lawsuit against the watchdog organization on Monday, with Musk and Yaccarino criticizing the articles' framing and methodology.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced an investigation into Media Matters for potential fraud.

Despite the legal challenges, Media Matters stands by its reporting, intensifying the clash between the social media platform and the progressive watchdog.

Internet mocks Laura Ingraham for calling out Media Matters for America

After Laura Ingraham called out Media Matters for America over Elon Musk’s X, the internet took a brutal jab at the Fox News anchor.

One person wrote, “You work for the leading lying network. If you don't want to be held accountable, then stop lying,” and another said, “Said the lady who lies on tv daily, while working for the network that admitted, under oath, that they lie to push their story.  Bless your heart - in that southern way!”

An X user simply slammed Ingraham, writing, “Maybe, just maybe, since FOX is on the hook for almost a $Billion because of your lies, sit this out.”

One more called out Ingraham, “Haha. You’re still trying to be a journalist. Loser,” and another wrote, “And how much bullying have you done Laura??? Watch your own show sometimes.”

“"Mean girl" ingraham talks about "bullying"...what an oxymoron,” said another.
