LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Amber Heard has made an intense acting comeback with her new flick ‘In the Fire.’

The ‘Drive Angry’ star, in this thriller, plays an investigative doctor who visits a boy said to be possessed by the devil.

The trailer came out on Wednesday, September 20, and instantly became a talking point on social media.

Heard said in a statement which came before the actors’ strike began. "The film is a meditation on the almost supernatural powers of love told through a strong-willed and independent woman at the turn of the 20th century," she said.

She continued, "I feel honored to be part of this labor of love and to be the lead in [director] Conor Allyn’s vision.

What did Amber Heard say about her upcoming movie?

"I feel lucky to be surrounded by such an amazing cast. They’re as dedicated and magical as the characters they play."

Heard was in Italy in June to support the film’s world premiere at the 69th Taormina Film Festival.

"It is about the boundaries that love can cross and its creation, and really about the overwhelming power that love has. I don’t want to sound cheesy about it, but it’s a movie about love," she said at the event.

‘In the Fire’ director, Allyn lauded Heard’s talent and said she "has an incredibly bright future ahead."

"I think 'In the Fire' showcases her talents as an actor. I know this is something she is very proud of and it’s something we are very excited to release to the public," he told People.

"I think it will be a great opportunity for her to have something beyond the trial and stuff to talk about and to be a platform for a hell of a comeback" he continued.

The movie will be released on October 13 on a digital platform.

Moviegoers feel industry favors female actors

A user compared Heard with Kevin Spacey's work. "You guys didn’t promote people like Kevin Spacey post. Strange is it, that Amber Heard gets a pass. I wonder why," the user wrote.

"We stand with Amber Heard and we will be watching 👏" commented another. One felt there is partiality in the industry, "Oh so the Women get to come back and continue with their lives but the Men have a question mark on their lives forever. SMH"
