NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: In a surprising twist of events, ‘Good Morning America’ host Michael Strahan will be joining the popular competitive reality show 'Dancing with the Stars' on October 10 as a guest judge, as per Parade.
As the date for the ‘Motown Night’ episode approaches, the ‘GMA’ host has taken to Instagram to promote his gig and get the hype going. However, instead of applause and hype, Strahan was on the receiving end of some mockery.
Strahan, who is a ‘GMA’ host and former NFL star, has received a negative response on the internet prior to guest judging on 'Dancing with the Stars' as people asked, “What does he know about dance?”
'GMA' shares 'DWTS' promo
On Instagram, ‘GMA’ promoted host Michael Strahan’s new gig, which was later shared by him.
The caption read, “TUESDAY: Find out what happens when @Michaelstrahan leaves the @goodmorningamerica studio and enters the ballroom as a guest judge on @dancingwiththestars!”

The promo for Strahan had a voice-over that said, “What will happen when Michael Strahan leaves the studio and enters the ballroom as a guest judge for 'Dancing with the Stars'? Well, it all starts this Tuesday morning on 'GMA' live from the ballroom, with all the backstage buzz.”
The voice-over also added, “'Dancing with the Stars' has never had a guest judge like this.”
The promo included Strahan suited up, with glimpses of the ‘Dancing with the Stars’ set and glamour, and Strahan showcased in bits and parts as he struts through.
While the promo of Strahan on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ was filled with glitz and glam, the internet was not too impressed with the ‘GMA’ host.

On Instagram, while Michael Strahan’s fans showered the host with hearts under the promo, several were a little doubtful.
One person commented, “He just wants to get paid,” while another asked, “What does he know about dance?”
Some labeled this a “dumb move” as one person wrote, “Boring. What experience does he have? Dumb move,” and another said, “Who cares?”
“This is like when Ellen DeGeneres was on American Idol to judge. What do they know about singing and dancing?” wrote one user, and another wrote, “Hmm well this is going to be interesting to see. Let's see how great of a guest host he is.”
