In the memoir, Spears reportedly confirms that Timberlake broke up with her over text.

The Princess of Pop's memoir 'The Woman in Me' will be published on October 24.

The memoir's pre-released excerpts show Spears scrutinizing her romantic relationship with Timberlake.

Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake were the 'hottest couple in the entertainment industry'

The two met at the 'The All-New Mickey Mouse Club' set in 1992, according to Business Insider.

The couple, considered the 'hottest couple in the entertainment industry' in the early 2000s, began dating in 1999.

In March 2002, Spears confirmed that the couple split up.

Her memoir is bringing media attention to the ex-couple once again.

Justin Timberlake broke up with Britney Spears over text

In the 275-page memoir, the pop icon recounts her time with Timberlake and their break-up.

The singer writes that Timberlake initiated the break-up over a text message, "I was comatose in Louisiana, and he was happily running around Hollywood."

She further alleges in the book that he initiated the split while he was shooting for his first solo album 'Justified', according to Time. Spears received the text while shooting her music video for a remix of 'Overprotected.'

The singer, 41, revealed that the break-up left her "devastated" and forced her to the extent of thinking about leaving the music industry.

Spears previously said that she was pregnant with Timberlake's child, and the latter insisted she abort it.

The internet compares how Timberlake broke up with Spears to how Russell Brand ended his marriage with Katy Perry.

Comedian Russel Brand also ended his marriage with singer Katy Perry via text message.

The couple exchanged wedding vows in 2010 and remained married only for 14 months.

Brand infamously ended the marriage with Perry through a brutal text message on New Year's Eve in 2011. In the message, he said he was filing for a divorce from the singer.

Spears' break-up revelations with Timberlake have increased the temper of netizens as well as the 'Britney Army.'
