Chris Evans reportedly got married to girlfriend Alba Baptista in a private ceremony in Boston

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS: Rumor has it that Marvel superstar Chris Evans, 42, got married to his girlfriend Alba Baptista, 26, in an intimate ceremony over the weekend.

Evans married the ‘Warrior Nun’ star on Saturday, September 9 in a Boston area private estate, Page Six reports. 

‘Captain America’ star’s Marvel co-stars including Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, and Robert Downey Jr reportedly attended the private ceremony.

While the ‘Knives Out’ star was one of the most eligible bachelors in Hollywood, his sudden wedding has shocked Chris Evans fans. 

Chris Evans said he loves 'the idea of tradition and ceremony'

'The Gray Man' star previously expressed his desire to get married and settle down when he was awarded the title of People's Sexiest Man Alive in November 2022.

He said, "That's absolutely something I want - wife, kids, building a family."

The 'Gifted' star added, "When you read about most of the best artists, whether it's actors, painters, writers, most of them [admit] it wasn't the work they made [that they are most proud of], it was about the relationships; the families they created, the love they found, the love they shared."

"So it's also something through my long 41 years that also rings true. Those things are the most important," Evans quipped.

He also voiced his preference for tradition and ceremony, "I love the idea of tradition and ceremony. I had a lot of that in my life, so the idea of creating that — I can't think of anything better."

The actor's fans were left brokenhearted and took to social media to express their shock over the news.

Someone else shared a meme of stress eating with the caption, "I JUST WOKE UP FROM A NAP WHAT DO YOU MEAN CHRIS EVANS IS MARRIED."
