Internet ‘heartbroken’ after ‘The Hills’ couple Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt reveal ‘faking’ fights in show
SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA: In a recent podcast called 'Lets be honest,' Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt spilled the beans, revealing that a significant chunk of their on-screen drama, including their infamous fights, was actually staged and fake.
When the host questioned them about the biggest misconception surrounding their lives, Heidi chimed in, debunking the idea that their relationship was tumultuous.
She dropped the bombshell that even Spencer's on-screen flirting with other women was nothing more than a scripted act. "It's like we never could have sustained a relationship with all that fights," she said.
"And its understandable because we played it out," Heidi added. She added how she would act upset every time her husband would try to flirt with another woman, which was all staged.
This revelation left fans of the show astonished, as they had been under the impression that everything was real and unscripted.
"Was anything real?!" asked a user under the post. "I still cannot get over it was all fake," said another.
"I'm super curious if Heidi's family understood the assignment too. Because if they were in on it. Their acting is what sold it even more!," added one user.
"Why am I heartbroken that it was all fake lmao," commented one. "What? Do you mean that it’s not reality? No way," added another.
‘The Hills’ reboot was canceled after two years over ‘fake storylines’
After the sensational drama and buzz surrounding The Hills, after its broadcast finale, numerous accounts verified that certain elements of the show were indeed scripted.
Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt went so far as to stage a fake separation.
While this disclosure may not have shocked avid viewers, it added a touch of scripted allure to the reality TV concoction, a not-so-surprising secret ingredient in the recipe for heightened viewer ratings.
Spencer Pratt was fired from ‘The Hills’ after threatening producer
Pratt got the boot from the show for threatening to kill a producer. The plan was for him to make a comeback after some anger management and a six-week break.
However, things took a turn for the worse, leading to his complete expulsion from the cast.
Adding to the drama, Pratt found himself in hot water in Costa Rica on September 11, 2010, getting arrested and locked up for trying to board a plane with hunting weapons. Although he eventually got released, he was slapped with a ban, keeping him from setting foot in the country again.
Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have been married for 15 years
Pratt and Montag seem to have dodged the infamous reality TV curse, enjoying a good time together even after 15 years of marriage.
They're navigating the reality of raising their two boys, Gunner and Ryker, in the glamour of Hollywood. "We're striving to build enough clout before our sons grow up. "It's a work in progress."
Before Pratt, Heidi was with Jordan, a seemingly nice guy who gifted her an adorable puppy for Christmas. Jordan and his roommate, Brian, made appearances on season one, but then they sort of faded into the background.
