ROME, GEORGIA: On Friday, September 1, the world lost legendary Jimmy Buffett to lymphoma that resulted from skin cancer. After Buffett’s death at 76, several celebrities, hosts, and fans took over social media to express their grievances, including US Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Greene took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to pay her respects to Buffett after his demise. She quoted his song, expressed her sadness, and also misspelled his name. Instead of “Buffett,” Greene wrote “Buffet” and the internet could not stop trolling her for the same.

Greene shared a picture of the late singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett and wrote, “Very sad to hear that Jimmy Buffet passed away. I’ve spent countless times on my boat or dock listening to his great timeless music. Prayers for his family and friends. RIP…”

MTG also quoted his song ‘Son of a Sailor’ on X, “As a dreamer of dreams and a travelin' man, I have chalked up many a mile, Read dozens of books about heroes and crooks, And I learned much from both of their styles, Son of a son, son of a son, Son of a son of a sailor.”

To begin with, American sports commentator, Keith Olbermann, responded to Greene's tweet and called her a “blithering monkey.” He wrote, “You misspelled his name, you blithering monkey.”

In addition to Olbermann, several other people mocked MTG for the same. One person wrote, “Such a fan you can't spell his name?” and another tweeted, “MAGA can't spell. It's BUFFETT.”

Most of the responses to MTG’s tweet revolved around Jimmy Buffett’s correct spelling. One user said, “You can’t even spell his name right lmao,” and another wrote, “Yes. Clearly, you were a huge fan. Such a huge fan that you don’t even know how to spell his last name.”

MTG’s mishap in this tweet, where she paid her respects to Buffett was taken over with people trolling the US Representative. One person said, “Not sure we should believe you on this one, seeing as you misspelled his name.”
