The 34-year-old was seen driving his vintage 1970 Chevelle convertible, the same car in which he took Taylor Swift for a ride following their Bears game.
It is, however, not clear which substance he was smoking.
Travis Kelce talks about marijuana habits in NFL
In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Kelce said that 50-80 percent of the active NFL players are into smoking marijuana. However, he also admitted that most of them quit their habit in around July - a month before the season starts.
He said, “If you just stop in the middle of July, you're fine,” before adding, “A lot of guys stop a week before and they still pass because everybody's working out in the heat and sweating their tail off. Nobody's really getting hit for it anymore.”
In the same interview, he also shared how he was suspended from playing football ahead of his 2010 Sugar Bowl (college tournament) when his team Cincinnati Bearcats faced Florida Gators.
He recalled, “I was down in New Orleans, listening to Lil Wayne, and I wanted to smoke what he was smoking,” before adding that after hearing about his punishment, he was "so embarrassed, I didn’t want to look at anybody."
His father, Ed, also thought it would serve him a lesson. Kelce shared, “I told him it’s a great learning opportunity. Live with it. Grow from it. Learn from it.”
He continued, “It is what it is, and you just have to deal with it now,” and added, “All the while, I’m biting my tongue about how stupid it is that they’re going to suspend a college kid for smoking pot."
Since then, the NFL has also increased the threshold level for a positive marijuana test from 35 nanograms to 150 nanograms in 2021 and abolished testing during offseasons.
Marijuana, has, in fact, been decriminalized in several US states since then.
For the record, Kelce has not tested positive for marijuana ever since he joined the NFL in 2013.
