Rumors of Selena Gomez and Zayn Malik's relationship have been circulating for quite some time now. The 30-year-old 'Who Says' singer suddenly unfollowed Zayn and some other celebrities, and the latter deleted his Instagram account. Rumors of a feud have begun doing the rounds since Gomez previously stated that fans should not read into the rumors of her and Zayn starting a new romance. The 'Back to You' singer, in fact, confirmed her relationship status in a hilarious June 8 TikTok that showed her shouting "I'm single!" at the athletes during a soccer game. What is further mystifying to fans is that Zayn has also chosen to unfollow her and he scrubbed his Instagram clean of posts. Wonder what went wrong between the duo for this social media purge.

The 'Only Murders in the Building' actress, who has a staggering 424 million followers, sparked concerns her unfollowing spree on social media also included Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, and Dua Lipa, though Dua may not have been unfollowed. Why she made the decision to unfollow the group on Instagram is unknown. But she might have been worried that her alleged romance with Zayn wouldn't work out, so she got rid of Zayn, as per a report in The Mirror.

The 'Dusk Till Dawn' singer has since deleted all of his posts and his profile photo from his Instagram account, which has over 49.8 million followers. Zayn had been following the founder of Rare Beauty, but he suddenly appears to have stopped doing so.

It's unknown what relationship Selena and Dua have had in the past for her to unfollow her on social media. In the case of the Hadid sisters: Selana and Zayn's ex Gigi are both friends with Taylor Swift; Swift and Hadid were photographed having dinner together last week. To further prove there is no bad blood between Selena and Gigi, a Us Weekly report cites that Gigi who is also the mother of Zayn's daughter Khai didn’t mind him and Selena seeing each other. “Gigi has no problem whatsoever with Zayn dating,” the source said. “As long as he is happy and stable and continues to be a good coparent to [their daughter] Khai, she’s fine with whoever he goes out with.”

'Absolutely no hard feelings'

According to a different story, despite unfollowing Zayn and the Hadid sisters on Instagram, Selena harbors no animosity toward them. According to a source, there is no animosity between the singer/actress and the other celebs she unfollowed. A source close to her says that speculations of any tension between Selena and those celebrities are untrue. According to the insider, "there are absolutely no hard feelings with anyone she unfollowed," as per PEOPLE.

The internet is worried about Malik's action; some say it has to do with his next record, while others assume Selena is involved.
