Actor-producer Rob Lowe and his wife Sheryl have proved that patience is not only a virtue but indeed a necessity in today’s high-end real estate industry. The celebrity couple just sold off their Mediterranean style Montecito mansion in California at $45.5 million to the co-founder of RoundTable Health Care Partners.

Having listed their home at $47 million in 2018 and with only one price cut in 2019 to $43 million, the dreamy property can grab anyone's attention. Lowe shot to fame in the 1980s with films ‘The Outsiders’, ‘Oxford Blues’, and television drama ‘The West Wing’. More recently he has made appearances in the sitcom ‘Parks and Recreation’ and television series ‘The Lowe Files’. Now that he has sold this exquisite property here's what we need to know about it.

The mansion emanates classic East Coast-style vibes. It was designed by architect Don Nulty in 2009 and stretches over to 10,000 square feet. Its huge compound houses 20 rooms. This includes large open formal rooms, a huge white and cheerful family kitchen, a separate catering kitchen, eight bedrooms, eleven baths, and an office. The eat-in kitchen is fitted with white cabinetry, a large center island, stainless steel appliances and marble countertops, with bar seating as well as a breakfast area.  There’s also a formal dining room with a fireplace.

For leisure purposes, the house has a library-music room with bar, family room, various conversation rooms and nooks, a movie theater, a well-equipped gym and a massive wine cellar. Adding to the sense of warmth is the presence of over nine indoor fireplaces throughout the house with one in the master suite.

If you think that we are done here, then you’d be surprised to know that in addition to the main house, the grounds of the estate houses even more rooms. It has a two-bedroom guest house, a one-bedroom pool house with staff quarters and an outdoor kitchen.

For outdoor activities and fun, the mansion has a pool and spa and tennis court with observation areas. The court is covered in lushly landscaped lawns that are large enough to house a team sports and is surrounded by trees and a vegetable garden. What more? The mansion also has two outside fireplaces, terraces and loggias to ensure calm and cozy living.

Located in celebrity hotspot Montecito, the new owners of the house will be living near some of the world’s biggest stars including hosts Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres, and actress Gwyneth Paltrow. For the unversed, Montecito is a go-to retreat for anyone who seeks a relaxing refuge away from the hustle and bustle of filmdom. It is located 80 miles northwest of Los Angeles between the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Ynez Mountains in Santa Barbara County.
