The actor died due to septic shock and pneumonia. The 66-year-old had been undergoing radioactive iodine treatment amid a year-long battle with thyroid cancer. 'He was almost at the finish line for the chemotherapy,' said his manager Paul Munoz. Paul added, "He went in and did the surgery and he didn't want to spend the weekend at the hospital so he came back home and that's when things went south for him. His wind tunnel ruptured and air started going into his neck and his neck started swelling up. And then this past Friday he suffered some kind of infection in his throat and downstairs. This infection wiped him out because his immune system had not recovered from the last time in December." Meanwhile, he continue to act in porn movies till the diagnosis of cancer though he was previously affected following prostate surgery.

What was so controversial about Max Hardcore?

The pornographer known for very violent degrading porn was even sentenced to prison for obscenity. Women who worked with him have often highlighted instances of his abusive nature on sets. Hardcore had earned a notorious reputation for getting his actresses to dress in young girls' clothing, spitting and urinating on them, choking, gagging, and inserting speculums into their genitals, states a report in The Guardian. Julie Meadows, a former adult actress described in her blog the experience of working with the man. She calls Hardcore ‘the low point of her career’.  She mentions the hiring process itself which she did not enjoy at all as little or sketchy details about the plot were available to her. While she knew she was being hired to perform a sex scene she was unaware of the kinky form, the incestuous language the plot involved, or that it involved a speculum. She reveals she was warned before not to work with him and in hindsight, she says it was ‘good advice ignored’. Ultimately she says because of her experience with Hardcore, she learned to ask for all the details of any work she undertook.

Why was he arrested?

Little and his company, Max World Entertainment, Inc., were indicted in Florida by the United States Department of Justice Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section with five counts of transporting obscene matter by use of an interactive computer service and five counts of mailing obscene matter, relating to five movies showing fisting, urination, and vomiting in 2007. He was arrested and put in prison for close to 46 months in prison in 2008. Though the star went for an appeal in Atlanta court, the court upheld the conviction. He began serving his sentence on January 29, 2009. Hardcore was originally assigned to the Federal Metropolitan Correctional Facility in downtown Los Angeles, and then transferred to Federal Correctional Institution, La Tuna, in Anthony, Texas, as per Daily Mail
